The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps and rubella. An NHS campaign is urging parents of around 740,000 children aged between one and six who have not yet had one or both doses of the MMR vaccine to make an appointment with their child's GP practice. A reduced uptake of the vaccine is linked to a resurgence in cases over recent months.

It’s safe, effective and free of charge on the NHS!

Congratulations to our Hawthorn Medical Centre on their CQC report.

Congratulations to the Hawthorn Medical Centre team following the publication of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) report on 8 September 2022, which gives the practice an overall rating of ‘outstanding’.
We would like to acknowledge the hard work of the Hawthorn team in achieving this rating. It is recognised that key themes throughout the report evidence the practice’s integrated and collaborative approaches to improve patient outcomes, especially for the care of parents and families. The practice’s approach to evaluation of these interventions in terms of demonstrating outcomes was also recognised. Hawthorn’s approach to ensuring the preferences and needs of their patient population are understood and how learning from engagement has led to service improvement came through strongly in the report and is to be highly commended.
“ Quality and integrity were a high priority resulting in a holistic responsive and caring culture within the practice ”
This recognition by CQC, at a time when general practice is under considerable pressure, is a true achievement. Perhaps most importantly, it is clear that the team’s efforts are recognised and valued by patients with the positive feedback and comments received.

We believe the NHS is built on a commitment to provide care for everyone, based on need not ability to pay. Around the world we see how when good healthcare is no longer an aspiration but a reality, then diseases and ailments are prevented, resulting in healthier lives and stronger communities. Our vision is that one day every person in Greater Manchester and beyond will have access to excellent primary care – through their own GP practice or community-based services.

Our team at Hope Citadel Healthcare were inspired to bring health, hope and healing to the most vulnerable in our community. Working with the NHS, we achieve this by being at the heart of a local area, working collaboratively with services, and residents to achieve sustainable change which improves health outcomes.

This is a new Remote GP role we are introducing to adapt to the changing landscape of Primary Care since the pandemic. This means we can consider a broader range of candidates some of which may not be within a commutable distance from our practices. We will also consider candidates who may wish to work on site on days that work for them or to attend clinical meetings etc.

Welcome to Hope Citadel Healthcare.
We provide NHS funded services across 3 CCGs in Greater Manchester by running GP practices across Oldham, Rochdale, and Manchester.
We want to provide healthcare that addresses the whole person, not just the physical. We really care about finding disease early, and about being proactive with care.
We equip our clinical staff with the skills they need to understand the social determinants of health and how this affects their patients
