Fact: CBT is highly effective for a wide range of issues, from everyday stress and anxiety to clinical depression, phobias, eating disorders, and chronic pain. Many people use it to improve their coping skills and overall well-being.

MYTH
While CBT is often considered a short-term therapy, it requires effort and consistent practice. Lasting change takes time, and while it can significantly improve symptoms, it's a process, not an overnight cure.

Did you know that today is World Hello Day?

Who knew we needed a day like this in the calendar? But if you stop to think about it, how often do you go out of your way to truly connect and say "Hello" to those around you?

The pace of life means that it's more common for us to rush around, perhaps missing opportunities to connect to our loved ones during day to day routines, and certainly in broader life settings like doing our weekly shop, we just want to get in and out. We've taken for granted what a simple yet effective greeting can really do for us.

Take a look at some of these reasons to say "Hello" to someone today.

Like, share and comment. We'd love to know your thoughts :)

And if no one has said it to you today, Hello!

Thursday Thrive Bite: Brain MOT.
Looking out for signs that your brain needs a check-in and an MOT undertaking.
We might notice the 'engine management' sign going off for our brain, indicating that something just isn't right, and something needs taking care of.
When was the last time you stopped, reflected on your wellbeing, and carried out that MOT?

Whilst summarising a clients key achievements from therapy last week, it felt like we touched on every single one of these points.

By learning to detach, or ‘defuse’ from multiple areas of life or present difficulties that she was facing, she had gained a greater sense of control than what she had experienced in decades.
Control of her own processes, rather than a continuous focus on those which she actually could never control regardless of how much energy she put in to trying to. This was incredibly free’ing for her, reducing her anxiety significantly and providing a clarity of the rewards and values of her life as it is.

Thursday Thrive Bite-Dropping the anchor.
We experience challenging thoughts and feelings on a regular basis in our life's journey. Sometimes there isn't much we can do and in those moments what we need to focus on is grounding ourselves and waiting for some of that storm to pass.
Dropping the anchor can be the skill that helps us in those moments.
Give it a go and let us know what you think.

Thursday Thrive Bite is here!
Today we focus on expanding life outside of our challenges.
Sometimes we can get stuck by trying to solve some of the issues or challenges we experience. Sometimes we need to be focusing on living a valued life, despite the challenges.
What does this look like?

It’s national work life week and I’ve been thinking about the patterns we see in clients facing Burnout, work stress and low self esteem. At the core there is so often a sense of not being good enough and needing to try harder, even if that is at a sacrifice to other parts of life. This isn’t true. We have to work to change this out dated narrative.
