The peregrine falcon has you beat when it comes to speed. This predatory bird dive-bombing straight down to its prey at speeds of up to 200 mph (322 km/h). Aerodynamics are the blame for the intense speeds the falcons are able to achieve on their dives-scientists say they have the "perfect bodies." Not only is there speed is mind-boggling, but peregrine falcons have equally impressive reaction skills. This quick reacting helps the birds not only sn**ch prey, but also avoid potentially deadly collisions. However, this speed is only reachable during the bird's hunting dive. Otherwise, it can only reach speeds of up to 55 mph (88.5 km/h).
