Today the lovely and kindly let us takeover their café to hold our first food event for the residents at Dahlia House in Burnage.
In the run up to National Stress Awareness Day on Weds 6th Nov, we placed the spotlight firmly on the big S - identifying stressors in our lives, exploring stress reduction techniques, and discussed how talking about stress with others can benefit our physical and emotional wellbeing. 😌
Being a right pair of nutritionists, naturally we focused on the main food groups proven to help us be more resilient during times of stress.
We put on a tasty spread of delights containing complex carbs, healthy fats and lean proteins to compliment our talk on how balanced eating can support our mind and body during life’s challenging moments.
It all looked pretty appetising, and our participants were more than willing to tuck in, even trying some foods for the very first time. The guacamole in particular was a bonafide hit! 🥑
