We’re pleased to share that our Director of Workforce and OD - Specialist Hospitals Clinical Group role is now live.

In this pivotal role, you’ll report directly to the Clinical Group Chief Executive and take the lead in delivering the MFT People Plan across workforce, education, training, and organisational development. You’ll ensure all initiatives align with our Trust strategy and our five key aims - shaping the culture, capability, and future of our services.

This is a role for someone who is truly passionate about people:
✔ A role‑model for compassionate, inclusive leadership
✔ A champion of empowerment and shared decision‑making
✔ Someone who enables teams to feel valued, supported, and able to thrive

As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you’ll also play a central role in developing the Clinical Group annual plan, ensuring workforce, OD and ED&I priorities are fully embedded to deliver high‑quality, safe care and strong operational performance.

We’re looking for an influential, values‑driven leader with a strong track record in senior workforce and OD, and the vision to help shape the future of the Specialist Hospitals Clinical Group and the wider MFT.

If you’re ready to make a significant impact across a high‑performing, ambitious Clinical Group - and contribute to the continued development of an inclusive, open and transparent culture - we’d love to hear from you.

This week, we’re celebrating how apprenticeships help colleagues grow through real, hands on experience across our departments. Liam, one of our finance apprentices recently shared how spending time with different finance teams gave him a richer understanding of the whole function - helping his studies feel more meaningful and connected to everyday work.

At MFT, experiences like this are what make apprenticeships so powerful: they build confidence, deepen skills, and open doors to long term careers.
