This World Mental Health Day, we’re reflecting on the theme of “access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies”.

We’ve collated a hub of helpful resources to support mental health and wellbeing for individuals, families, and communities.

Whether you’re looking for self-care advice, advice on how you can support others, or how to access NHS mental health services, you’ll find it here.

Council was proud to welcome the Speak Their Name Quilt to Trafford Town Hall as part of our Vigil of Hope.

The quilt, lovingly created by families bereaved by su***de, is a moving tribute to those we have lost and a reminder that every life matters.

The vigil brought the community together in remembrance, compassion, and hope for the future — working side by side to prevent su***de and support those affected.

The quilt is now on display at Sale Waterside Arts Centre until October 7

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Are your child’s vaccinations up to date? Our A-Z service finder has helpful information about this. You can check their Red Book or contact your GP practice if you’re not sure. It’s important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection, but it’s never too late to catch up on missed doses.

Measles can be dangerous. Some people get very sick from measles and can develop pneumonia and meningitis. One in five people with measles will go to hospital and in very rare cases people can die. Ask your GP practice about your free MMR vaccination.

From mid-July 2025, the NHS is offering free lung health checks to more current and former cigarette and sh**ha smokers aged 55-74 who are registered with a GP in and .

The checks are quick, free and they could ultimately save your life by finding lung cancer at an early stage before you may have symptoms. Most visitors to the Lung Health Checks will get reassurance that everything is OK.

If you are deemed high risk, you will then be offered a low-dose computed tomography (CT) scan of your lungs for further investigation on the same day on board the truck and be enrolled into the programme.

The free checks are available to people aged 55-74 who are past and current smokers registered at the following practices:
