๐ŸŽ€ Spotting changes early can save lives ๐ŸŽ€

Most people survive breast cancer when itโ€™s found and treated at an early stage. Thatโ€™s why itโ€™s so important to be breast aware and attend screening when invited.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Look out for any changes such as lumps, skin changes, or ni**le changes.
๐Ÿ‘‰ If you notice something unusual, donโ€™t wait โ€” your GP wants to hear from you.
๐Ÿ‘‰ You'll automatically get your first invite for breast screening between the ages of 50 and 53. Then you'll be invited every 3 years until you turn 71.
๐Ÿ‘‰ If you're a trans man, trans woman or are non-binary, you may be invited automatically, or you may need to talk to your GP surgery or call the local breast screening service to ask for an appointment.

Your health matters. Please check, attend, and talk to us if youโ€™re concerned.

This week, from 22nd to 28th September, we are joining the global effort to raise awareness about migraine, a neurological condition that affects millions worldwide.
Migraine is more than just a headache. It can be a debilitating condition that disrupts daily life.

During Migraine Awareness Week, we aim to:

Educate: Increase understanding of migraine and its impact.
Advocate: Promote better care and treatment options.
Support: Provide resources and community for those affected.

The Migraine Trust is leading the charge with the theme , encouraging individuals to share their personal experiences and challenge misconceptions about the condition.

Withington Pride: A Call Out for Q***r, Transgender and Intersex People of Colour
Coconut is a facilitated discussion about how systemic racism subtly embeds itself in the daily lives of members of the global majority, exploring the often-unseen ways individuals internalise and uphold oppressive norms. The discussion explores these themes of 'othering' through the lens of food, culture and community. They are inviting QTIPOC* to attend a workshop, which aims to bring people together to explore the intersections of othering as q***r and Global Majority folk, find connections, solace and a shared understanding.

New Gonorrhoea Vaccine Now Available in Greater Manchester! ๐Ÿ’‰

From 1st August, eligible people in Greater Manchester can get the MenB vaccine (Bexsero) to help protect against gonorrhoea. This is part of a world-first programme tackling rising STI rates.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Gonorrhoea cases are at record highs, but two doses of the MenB vaccine can reduce your risk by up to 40% and help slow the spread of antibiotic-resistant strains.

โœ… Whoโ€™s eligible?

Gay & bisexual men with multiple partners in the last 3 months

Anyone recently diagnosed with an STI

Others at similar high risk

๐Ÿ“ Get vaccinated at your local sexual health clinic โ€“ appointments may be needed.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Condoms are still essential for full protection. You may also be offered vaccines for mpox, hepatitis A & B, and HPV at the same time.
