If you want to understand how treatment works, or you’re looking for trusted information about HIV testing and prevention, the NHS website offers clear guidance. Free and confidential testing options are available through NHS services and community providers, including home-testing kits.

Knowing your status and understanding the facts helps you make informed decisions about your health.

World AMR Awareness Week reminds us that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a serious global health threat. When bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites stop responding to medicines, common infections become harder to treat.

Everyone can help slow the spread of drug resistance:
• Only use antibiotics when prescribed by a healthcare professional.
• Always complete the full course of treatment.
• Never share or reuse leftover antibiotics.

Together, we can protect the effectiveness of life-saving medicines.

Autumn Family Fun at Old Moat Sure Start!

Looking for something fun (and a little muddy!) to do with the kids next week? Join us at Old Moat Sure Start Children’s Centre on Thursday 30th, from 9:30am to 12:00pm for a morning of pot decorating and winter veg planting! 🌱🎨

Children aged 0–11 (with parents or carers) can get creative decorating their own pots and sowing winter vegetables like cabbage, garlic, and onions — to take home and grow!

A lovely way to enjoy the season together and learn a bit about growing your own food. 🍂

🎀 Spotting changes early can save lives 🎀

Most people survive breast cancer when it’s found and treated at an early stage. That’s why it’s so important to be breast aware and attend screening when invited.

👉 Look out for any changes such as lumps, skin changes, or ni**le changes.
👉 If you notice something unusual, don’t wait — your GP wants to hear from you.
👉 You'll automatically get your first invite for breast screening between the ages of 50 and 53. Then you'll be invited every 3 years until you turn 71.
👉 If you're a trans man, trans woman or are non-binary, you may be invited automatically, or you may need to talk to your GP surgery or call the local breast screening service to ask for an appointment.

Your health matters. Please check, attend, and talk to us if you’re concerned.

This week, from 22nd to 28th September, we are joining the global effort to raise awareness about migraine, a neurological condition that affects millions worldwide.
Migraine is more than just a headache. It can be a debilitating condition that disrupts daily life.

During Migraine Awareness Week, we aim to:

Educate: Increase understanding of migraine and its impact.
Advocate: Promote better care and treatment options.
Support: Provide resources and community for those affected.

The Migraine Trust is leading the charge with the theme , encouraging individuals to share their personal experiences and challenge misconceptions about the condition.

We’re excited to announce the launch of the ATTITUDES-W Patient study – a new
research project that aims to better understand people’s experiences with gynaecology clinics and weight management discussions.
Your feedback is important! By sharing your thoughts, you can help improve health and well-being for people attending gynaecology appointments.
If you've visited a gynaecology clinic in the past 5 years, we’d love to hear from you!
Make a difference with us!

Withington Pride: A Call Out for Q***r, Transgender and Intersex People of Colour
Coconut is a facilitated discussion about how systemic racism subtly embeds itself in the daily lives of members of the global majority, exploring the often-unseen ways individuals internalise and uphold oppressive norms. The discussion explores these themes of 'othering' through the lens of food, culture and community. They are inviting QTIPOC* to attend a workshop, which aims to bring people together to explore the intersections of othering as q***r and Global Majority folk, find connections, solace and a shared understanding.
