🌍World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) is here!
Each year 18th - 24th November, the WHO raises awareness about one of the biggest global health challenges we face: antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

💊Why it matters:
When bacteria, viruses, and other microbes become resistant to medicines, common infections become harder, sometimes impossible to treat. This affects everyone.

🛡️What we can do:
✔️Use antibiotics only when prescribed by a healthcare professional
✔️Never pressure doctors for antibiotics
✔️Complete your full treatment course
✔️Practice good hygiene to prevent infections
✔️Vaccinate when recommended
✔️Handle and prepare food safely

The practice will be closed from 1pm on Wednesday 10th September for staff training.
We will re-open as normal on Thursday 11th September at 8am.
If you need medical assistance while we are closed, please call 111.

🚶‍♀️✨Before we start our staff training afternoon, we are holding a well-being session from 1:30pm-2:30pm, and we would love for you to join us! 🚶‍♀️✨

✍️📢Know Your Numbers Week 📢✍️

8th–14th September is Know Your Numbers Week – a great reminder of how important it is to keep track of your blood pressure.

We’ll be running walk-in clinics for patients who have:
✔️ Hypertension (high blood pressure)
✔️ Coronary heart disease (CHD)
✔️ Diabetes
✔️ A history of stroke or TIA
👉 and have not yet had their blood pressure checked this year.

🩺 Walk-in Clinic Times:
📅 Thursday 11th September
• 8:00am – 1:00pm
• 2:00pm – 4:30pm

📅 Friday 12th September
• 10:30am – 12:30pm

No appointment needed – just drop in!

Are you a carer for someone with learning disabilities?

Don’t forget to join us for our Carers’ Morning tomorrow (Wednesday 20th) between 10am and 12:30pm.

The session will be led by our Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Physician Associate, with additional support from a Lead Nurse from the learning Disability Team.
