Yesterday, during the Cardiac Risk in the Young screening day at the OrthTeam Centre, we welcomed 1️⃣0️⃣4️⃣ young people for free cardiac checks - an essential step in detecting potentially hidden heart conditions early.

Led by OrthTeam’s Consultant Sports Cardiologist, Professor Aneil Malhotra, 3️⃣ individuals were referred for further assessment to investigate potentially life-threatening conditions.

This important initiative was funded in memory of Aaron Dixon and Zoe Teale, with special recognition to Debbie Dixon and Peter Teale, whose legacies continue to protect young hearts across the North. ✨

A huge thank you to all the teams involved - together, we’re creating easier access to heart screenings for young people. ❤️
