Mr Bilal Barkatali, Consultant Knee Surgeon, shared insights into a new Biologically Enhanced Quad ACL Reconstruction technique currently in development, highlighting exciting advancements in knee surgery.

Mr Matt Ravenscroft, Consultant Shoulder Surgeon, presented on biologic augmentation for cuff pathology and also performed live surgery, demonstrating cutting-edge techniques in real time.

Good luck to everyone taking part in today’s London Marathon! 🏃🏾🏃🏽‍♀️

We’re delighted that OrthTeam’s Sport and Exercise Medicine Consultant, Dr John Rogers, has been appointed as Elite Athlete Field Doctor for the 4️⃣th year running. ✨

Consultant Sports Cardiologist, Professor Aneil Malhotra, is also reprising his role overseeing medical emergencies in the welfare tent at the finish line - marking his 1️⃣4️⃣th year supporting the runners! 👏🏽🤩

Earlier this month, at the Cardiac Risk in the Young screening day at the OrthTeam Centre, we welcomed 9️⃣2️⃣ young people for free cardiac checks - an essential step in detecting potentially hidden heart conditions early.

Led by OrthTeam’s Consultant Sports Cardiologist, Professor Aneil Malhotra, 1️⃣3️⃣ individuals were referred for further assessment of potentially life-threatening conditions.

Funded in memory of Aaron Dixon, with special recognition to Debbie Dixon, whose legacy continues to protect young hearts across the North.

A huge thank you to all involved - together, we’re improving access to vital heart screenings for young people. ❤️
