and CAHN welcome the national maternity investigation announcement but emphasise that evidence of disparities has existed for years without sufficient accountability or action.

Key concerns requiring urgent government attention:
• Black women face the worst maternal outcomes in the UK
• Persistent lack of culturally competent care
• Systemic institutional failures affecting vulnerable families
