Muscle knots… but they’re not actually knots 👀

What you’re feeling are often called trigger points — small, hyper-irritable spots within a tight band of muscle fibres.

These areas can develop when a muscle is:
• Overworked
• Held in one position for too long
• Under stress

This can lead to:
• Increased sensitivity in the area
• Reduced local blood flow
• Changes in how the nervous system processes pain

That’s why a “knot” can feel sore to touch — and sometimes even cause pain in other areas (known as referred pain).
