🌟 WE’RE HIRING – GP RECEPTIONIST! 🌟
(Warning: May involve real-life humans and phones that ring non-stop 😂)
The Range Medical Centre in Whalley Range is expanding again. We’re searching for a friendly, confident, highly organised GP Receptionist to join our front-of-house dream team for 20–30 hours per week.
We’re one of Manchester’s most positively reviewed GP practices — and no, we didn’t bribe anyone with biscuits (we might have offered, but apparently that’s frowned upon 🤷♂️).
We’re a high-performing training practice with a strong team vibe, innovative working… and the occasional dramatic sigh when the printer jams for the 5th time that day.
If you:
Like helping people (even those who open with “This will only take a second…”)
Can multitask while appearing cool and composed (Oscars incoming)
Enjoy being the friendly face of the practice (or at least looking friendly before 9am)
…we really want to meet you!
👀 What You’ll Be Doing:
👥 Welcoming patients with warmth, empathy, and your best “please don’t shout at me, I don’t set the appointment system” smile
📅 Checking patients in and making sure they’re marked as arrived — not “DNA” because they were stood in the corner looking confused
📞 Answering calls: sometimes simple, sometimes… let’s just say “character building” 🙃
🔄 Signposting patients: “No, this isn’t the dentist… yes, I’m sure… unless your dentist also prescribes blood pressure tablets?”
📝 Admin tasks: online requests, registrations, prescription queries — basically the magical behind-the-scenes work that stops the practice collapsing into chaos
💬 Teamwork: working with clinicians, reception colleagues and the wider team — you’ll never be alone (even when you want to hide in the stationery cupboard)
✅ We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Communicates clearly, kindly, and doesn’t mind repeating themselves… repeatedly… all day
Can multitask like someone juggling flaming torches while politely booking appointments
Is confident with computers — or at least able to win the occasional battle against EMIS
Has reception or admin experience (NHS experience is great, X-Factor experience also considered)
Is happy to complete a DBS check — sorry, we can’t take your mum’s word that you’re lovely
