Celebrating the feast of St Jeanne Jugan.

This afternoon we had a wonderful thanksgiving mass to celebrate the feast day of our beloved St Jeanne Jugan.
It was wonderful to see so many of our donors, supporters, staff, friends, AJJ's, residents and volunteers present. Our gratitude was given to all for their help, support and making St Joseph’s so special.

At the end of mass Mother Anna Maria held the relic of St Jeanne Jugan and everyone were invited to come forward to venerate it.

Afterwards it was time for refreshments and a good old chat, a really enjoyable afternoon.

Feast day of St Jeanne Jugan..

We are overjoyed at how many prayed our novena prayer over the last 9 days to our beloved foundress St Jeanne Jugan. Tomorrow we will celebrate her feast day with a joyful afternoon mass followed by refreshments for all.

We pray that Our Lord Jesus Christ will hear the many petitions that she has presented on your behalf.

God bless you all.
St Jeanne Jugan pray for us. 🙏🙏

Day 9. HOSPITALITY.

St Jeanne saw the elderly as Our Lord and treated them with the utmost respect, care and love. Her approach to hospitality was rooted in her deep faith and spirit of self giving, exemplified by her willingness to share her own bed with an elderly disabled woman.

“ For I was hungry and you gave something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me in.”

Day 7. OBEDIENCE.

St Jeanne practiced obedience in her daily life. We must see God in the person who commands, be cheerful in our response and obey promptly. Obedience is a pathway to a deeper union with Christ.

“ Lord teach me your commands, help me understand, so I can keep your teachings, obeying them with all my heart.”

Day 5. LOVE.

St Jeanne believed that doing everything through love, especially for the sake of God would lead to right actions.
You cannot say, I love God but hate my brother, then you are a liar.

“Love one another as I have loved you, greater love has no one than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend”.

Day 1. FAITH.

St Jeanne had an unwavering faith that God would always provide for her and her work even when facing material needs, poverty and hardship.
“ Give us the house, if God fills it, God will not abandon it.”

We must have faith in God to guide us through life and all problems that come our way. Without faith nothing is possible, with it, nothing is impossible.
