Today we light the candle of Peace on our Advent wreath.

Heavenly Father, we come to You seeking the peace that only comes from You.
We pray You will bring peace and unity to all nations, especially to all our troubled nations.

Bless all who carry this peace light and all who will receive it, that your peace may dwell in their hearts and homes.

Remember Advent is the season, Jesus is the reason. 🙏🙏🙏

A morning visit from St Stephen's Primary School. 👱‍♀️🙎‍♂️🙎‍♀️🙎‍♂️

It was a pleasure to welcome Mrs Leigh and children from year 6 of St Stephen's school in Droylsden this morning.
Each pupil recited some lovely pieces of Christmas poetry. Our residents loved it and especially afterwards meeting and chatting to the children.

A visit to see our beautiful Chapel and a little prayer together. Time then for some refreshments and each pupil received a Christmas card from Mother Anna.

The children finished off with singing Christmas wishes and afterwards Mother Anna offered thanks to the children and the Sisters sang for all.

A really happy and beautiful morning, we truly appreciate the visit from St Stephen's. The children were a delight and a credit to their school and families.
It was their first visit but we know for sure it won't be their last.
We look forward to seeing you again in 2026. 🙏🙏🙏

Our heartfelt gratitude to Jesslyn from Indonesia who is a student at Manchester University and her friend Shirane from South Africa for their very generous donation of various items of food. Our chef was very happy.

It was at a Rosary Rally at the Hidden Gem that the Sisters first met and chatted with the two girls. They were keen to visit St Joseph's, see the home and meet the residents.

They really enjoyed their visit on Sunday and the residents loved chatting to them.
Thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness, we really do appreciate it.
We look forward to seeing you soon again.

Nothing like a bit of morning exercise to work up the appetite for dinner. Well done ladies. 👏👏

Advent, four weeks of preparation .

A time for renewal, deep reflection , longing and repentance leading up to the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day.
Through prayer, acts of charity and quite reflection we can open our hearts and make room for Jesus

Today we light the first candle on our Advent wreath, the candle of Hope. We can have hope because God is faithful and will keep all the promises made to us. Our hope comes from God. 🙏🙏🙏
