Let’s give it up for the humble pumpkin—our seasonal superstar and Slimming World FREE FOOD hero! 🧡 Whether you’re roasting it, blitzing it into soup, or turning it into a cheeky fakeaway, pumpkin’s got your back. And today, it deserves a little spotlight…

Here are some fabulously random pumpkin facts to celebrate:

🧠 Pumpkin is technically a fruit!
It belongs to the squash family and contains seeds—so it’s more melon than veg.

🌍 Pumpkins have been grown in North America for over 5,000 years.
Native Americans used them as a staple long before they became Halloween icons.

💧 They’re 90% water.
That makes them low in calories and perfect for bulking out meals without weighing you down.

🌟 Pumpkin seeds (pepitas) are edible and packed with nutrients.
Magnesium, zinc, healthy fats—you name it.

🎨 They come in all colours and sizes.
From ghostly white to deep green, and even varieties called Ghost Rider and Sweetie Pie.

🏆 The largest pumpkin ever grown weighed over 2,500 pounds!

This is Doris!

Doris wants to join a Slimming World group but it's her wedding anniversary in 2 weeks time and a few weeks after that it's her daughter's birthday.....Then there's half term and Halloween and not long after that it’s Christmas 🎄

Doris will DEFINITELY join in the New Year, maybe February, after Valentine's Day, but definitely before Easter, as long as Easter doesn't fall early next year, in which case she will wait until after Easter or when the clocks go forward as brighter nights are better!
