MEET THE TEAM MONDAYS- Elaine

Elaine is our newest member of the Total Physiotherapy Team having joined us in February. Elaine is a native of Ireland and qualified from the University of Salford in 2020, with a degree in Physiotherapy (BSc Hons).

During her career so far, she has worked in a variety of settings, including: Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, as part of a Stroke team, in Paediatrics, in Palliative Care and on Neurological wards.

Elaine believes in the importance of using evidence-based practice in order to provide the best care possible for her patients. Elaine has experience in treating a wide variety of injuries and has a keen interest in helping her patients gain & maintain an active lifestyle.

Elaine strongly believes in building rapport with her patients, focusing on patient-centred care, whilst looking at issues holistically to get the best outcome for her patients.

Elaine has experience in treating many sports injuries and has worked with several teams providing match day cover and also assessing and treating injuries.

Outside of work Elaine is quite active playing Gaelic Football for a local team in Manchester competing across the North-West and keeping fit with athletics and going to the gym.

MEET THE TEAM MONDAYS- John

John is a Sport Rehabilitator working in the Middleton Clinic. John graduated with a degree in Sport Rehabilitation (BSc, BASRAT) in 2019 and has background in semi-professional football working alongside F.C. United of Manchester, as well as in Rugby League with Wigan Warriors.

John joined the Total Physiotherapy team in 2020 where he specialises in the assessment of sporting injuries, including diagnosis and rehabilitation.

In addition to his Sport Rehabilitation degree, John has also completed other professional development courses, including: Medical Acupuncture, Cupping, Massage & Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation.

These skills enable John to further help individuals reach their peak function and most importantly, move freely. John is also currently studying a Degree in Physiotherapy having started in 2021.

MEET THE TEAM MONDAY- Maryam

Maryam qualified in 2013 with a degree in Physiotherapy (BSc w/Honors) and qualified as a valedictorian of her class. Since qualifying, Maryam has gained extensive musculoskeletal experience across the world.

Maryam joined Total Physiotherapy 3 years ago and has great experience with a wide variety of different musculoskeletal problems. Maryam also has a keen interest in higher level disability.

Maryam’s key goal with Physiotherapy is to help people move more freely, be more active, and get physically stronger.
