Cupping may look a little different but it’s a powerful therapy with a long history.
While it’s been around for centuries, it’s only in the last 100 years that it’s been recognised as an official therapeutic practice.
Glass cups are either placed on the body or gently glided across the skin to help highlight and break up areas of tension and stagnation.
I’m trained in Fire Cupping, where a flame is briefly used to create suction inside the cup before placing it on your skin. Don’t worry, the flame never touches you and the cups aren’t hot 🔥
The level of suction is always adjusted to suit your comfort, making it a completely tailored treatment. It’s often described as a reverse massage - instead of working into the muscle, the suction lifts and separates the muscle fibres to release deep tension.
Cupping works on a deeper level and can help with …
🔥 Pain relief
🔥 Improved range of motion
🔥 Muscle relaxation
You may notice circular marks after treatment however this is completely normal. Darker marks can take up to 10 days to fade.
As with all treatments, cupping isn’t suitable for everyone, so we’ll always go through your medical history beforehand to make sure it’s right for you.
