‼️ Nominations for Stockport Rocks! Volunteer Awards are now open!!

It's been over ten years since the last borough wide Volunteer Awards. Many of you have highlighted the need to celebrate and reward volunteers, not only because it's a nice thing to do but also to support and protect the workforce that is the lifeblood of our sector.

And so with the help of Stockport County Community Trust , Marketing Stockport , Stockport Council and an array of amazing sponsors, we aim to deliver a celebration worthy of those who dedicate their time to helping others.

We worked with members of the Volunteer Managers Network to come up with ten categories to represent the many different forms of volunteering.

Nominations are open 1 - 28 March and you can make as many entries as you like - one nomination / team per entry.

We're looking forward to celebrating the inspiring individuals who give so much to our sector and their neighbourhoods!

We are so excited and proud to announce that Make a Difference, Heaton Norris Community Centre and Autisk have invested in an office space. Our new address is Suite No 1, Merseyway Innovation Centre, 21-23 Merseyway, Stockport, SK1 1PN.

Please note that this space is for us to do our work more effectively and does not affect the work we will continue to do at our community centres. Our office space will be cohabited by Nadia Ali, Bernard Kivel, Jan Bennet and our amazing team.

This is an important step forward for our organisations. We feel this new space will allow us to collaborate more effectively with the local community, businesses and the wider voluntary sector. As well as that, we will be getting the support we need to continue to thrive in our sector.

Our new office space in Merseyway Innovation Centre will be a great base for us to continue to thrive in our work to help local people live better. The centre has modern co-working areas, and lots of social space and it is right in the heart of Stockport
