🌍 Happy Earth Day! 🌿
Today, our little explorers have been busy learning all about our wonderful planet and how we can be its superheroes! 🦸♀️🦸♂️
We had a packed day of discovery:
📍 Virtual Jet-setting: We used Google Maps to zoom into our favorite familiar spots and then zoomed out to see the map of the whole Earth!
✈️ Island Hopping: After studying pictures of the globe, we took our creativity outside! We drew the sea and some islands and spent the afternoon "island hopping" from one country to another. (If only travel was that fast! )
🏆Sorting for Success: We compared natural objects with man-made products, discussing why it’s so important to protect our green spaces.
♻️ Recycling Rangers: We’ve been learning exactly which bins our rubbish belongs in and, more importantly, why we recycle to keep our oceans and forests clear
🌱 Earth-Grown vs. Man-Made: We got hands-on with our food! We explored apples, carrots, and pak choi to see how they grow from the ground, comparing them to "man-made" food like pasta, bread, and crackers. It was a great way to see how nature feeds us!
Why does it matter? 💚
At this age, learning to keep the Earth "happy" is about more than just chores—it’s about teaching our children empathy for the world they live in. When we keep the Earth happy, we ensure that the animals have homes, the flowers have room to grow, and we have a beautiful, healthy place to play for generations to come.
Small hands can make a big difference! 🌎✨
