This afternoon Elvis entered the building and we all had a fantastic day! From laughter, singing, dancing and smiles we had it all! We would definitely recommend him for some fantastic entertainment 🎶🎤 Staff, residents and family members really enjoyed him and we cannot wait to have him back 👏🏻

What fabulous week we have had!! From making our in-house competition to armchair exercises and Christmas songs! We have had a jam packed week!
We have had two wonderful girls Poppy and Michelle here on placement with us all week, and they have got stuck into every activity we have done, and made some lovely friendships with our residents ❤️
We have been working hard making our in-house competition entry for December which is a nativity scene, some of our residents enjoyed having hand massages and manicures whilst singing along to their favourite Christmas songs 💅
We have completed our challenge of making sure every single one of our residents has a wreath or decoration on their bedroom doors 🎅🤶
Bridgewater primary school came in to sing Christmas carols for our residents and there was not a dry eye in the room, our residents really enjoyed listening to them 🎶🎤 we got our bodies warmed up with some light armchair exercises and a singalong to our favourite party songs.
Barbara and Joyce helped Poppy and Michelle make shortbread biscuits which are on offer to all our residents family members 🍪if you pop in please try them, they are wonderful 👏🏻
We had a busy day of more arts and crafts as we finished our nativity scene, made a Christmas photo frame ready for Christmas Day and even managed to squeeze in our weekly bingo session.
Yesterday we took our Alan and Joyce for a brew down at the Pavilion where we made a wreath for their window display and even coloured our own to bring back with us. In the afternoon we made huge hot chocolate displays for both floor ☕️and finished off with some pet therapy with our interactive pets we everyone enjoyed 🐶🐾

🎄🎅❄️☃️CHRISTMAS HAS ARRIVED AT KENYON LODGE! 🎄🎅❄️☃️

What a busy productive week we have had this week pheww!
Our team have turned into elves this week and with the help of our residents we have decorated each Christmas tree! they are a real statement in each room and outside the front of our home! Our home manager Shaun decided he wanted a “statement christmas tree for the reception area” so that is what he got! Over 10ft of a statement tree to be precise 🤣🤣 so that was all hands on deck to get that up and decorated. Afterwards residents and staff couldn’t help but admire the lovely tree!

We have been working hard with wreaths and decorations for everyone room doors. Our wonderful maintenance man Gary made us a stable for outside the home and we must say it looks absolutely fabulous, and our nativity is very eye catching.
Our residents Christmas postbox has had a make over and We enjoyed our weekly bingo session. Some of our gentlemen came together for a chinwag and a game of dominos whilst getting to know eachother. This afternoon we relaxed a little by playing christmas songs in the lounge and those residents that wished to joined in played games and had some lovely competitive banter.

Over the next few weeks we have a lot planned for our residents so please check their activity planner in their rooms if you wish to join them you are more than welcome to do so 🎄🎅

🎄Thank you to Linnyshaw Garden Centre who kindly donated our Christmas tree which is on the porch of our home and looking wonderful🎄

👏🏻👏🏻Finally We would also like to say a big thank you everyone who has bought raffle tickets so far! All monies raised go towards our residents fund 👏🏻👏🏻 raffle tickets are still on sale so if you haven’t already bought yours, you still have time! YOU HAVE TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT!

🎄🎅☃️ Christmas activities have been in full swing here at Kenyon lodge this week☃️🎄🎅

We started the week off with a 1-1 trip to our local cafe with Gordon then back in time to bake a good old favourite “old school cake” which our wonderful residents made, decorated and enjoyed after their lunch. We have challenged ourselves to make a Christmas wreath or Christmas flower arrangements with every resident to have on their door or in their rooms during this festive time, and we must say they are looking amazing!!
We enjoyed a morning of armchair exercise’s with Mandy and we also busted some moves to some party favourites 🎶🎼💃🪩 Joan then went out on a 1-1 trip to stock up our bingo trolley and treated herself to some lovely things including fish and chips which she wanted to share with Allen, they have struck up a lovely friendship.
Residents on Peel unit enjoyed making some chocolate Christmas wreaths and also some Chocolate christmas bark for everyone to enjoy with a brew, they even had time to play a few games of scrabble in the afternoon we held our weekly bingo session. Where we were joined by few new faces, and they all enjoyed getting to know each other and playing bingo.
Today we have been continuing our wreath making mission and our residents have made some absolutely amazingly beautiful creations with the help of Eva who is here on a Friday doing her placement 👏🏻👏🏻

📣 CHRISTMAS RAFFLE📣

🎅🎄☃️Raffle Tickets are now available for our Christmas raffle ☃️🎄🎅

👏🏻These are on sale at reception for £5 per strip! We have some fantastic prizes up for grabs and you need to be in it to win it 👏🏻

🎉🍾🥳The raffle will be drawn at our resident’s Christmas party on Thursday 18th December 🎉🍾🥳

This week we have been getting into the Christmas spirit and had the lovely Eja here on placement for the week!
We have done a lot of Christmas crafting from colouring and painting Christmas cards to making snow globes out of old jars ☃️❄️ we have enjoyed the full week! residents came together on Wharton unit to make snowflakes for their window displays. We have also made some lovely photo frames and baubles which we instantly knew we would be cleaning up glitter for days. But we must say they all look fantastic. Some of our lovely ladies were happy to show off their beautiful hair cuts after a trip to our in-house hairdressers. This morning some of our ladies had their nails painted whilst others enjoyed a few games of naughts and crosses. We are finishing off our Friday afternoon with hot chocolates and a Christmas film 🎄🎅☕️
