We have had a very busy week this week here at Kenyon lodge! We started of the week by saying goodbye to our wonderful Stuart, then went on having a sing song and played question dice before getting a production line going to get our poppies ready for November.
Tuesday We enjoyed a morning of baking old school cake which residents enjoyed after their tea, and having a lovely pamper which consisted of head massages and hand massages. In the afternoon we went foraging in our gardens and made some lovely autumnal cards.
Wednesday we had a lovely morning of 1-1s where residents enjoyed colouring in some bird pictures and looking at what birds may visit our gardens, whilst Joyce enjoyed a little pamper and had her nails done. In the afternoon we enjoyed our weekly bingo session which was filled with plenty of laughter.
Thursday we spend the day finishing off our chocolate hampers ready for our Halloween bingo bonanza next weekend!!
Today we had a lovely 1-1 session with Barbara who used to be an interior designer, she enjoyed admiring the hard work of our maintenance team who are currently decorating peel units dining room and bar area, she was very impressed with it so far. This afternoon residents off peel unit joined Wharton unit for some exercise with instruments which then lead into karaoke when everyone loved!

We’ve finished off the week with music whilst making our chocolate bouquets ready for our bingo bonanza, obviously we had to quality test the chocolate 😜 we’ve had some lovely one to one time with some of our residents, and today we tested our balance and hand eye coordination with some games…..finished off with a good old film. we have had another fabulous week.

This week started off with a fantastic trip to Ordsall Hall courtesy of Myley. Our wellbeing team just love a dress up and our residents did too. We explored the halls throughout the tutor era and had a really good laugh!. We watched reels from old Salford which Barbara really enjoyed. After some lunch we visited the tutor bedrooms and admired the workmanship of the 4 poster original bed. We all really enjoyed the fun filled day. 📽️🎥🎬
We have done plenty of arts and crafts some of which is towards our monthly in-house competitions and others where some residents have learnt how to do a spot of decoupaging. 🎨🖌️🖼️
Of course our weekly Wednesday bingo session was in full swing as everyone had their eyes down ready for a full house.
On Thursday our Wharton lounge was full of laughter as we sat looking at Old photos from around Bolton and Broughton. Residents reminisced about their time in school and what they used to get up to in their youth. Joan told us all about how life was when Broughton got flooded back in the 1940s. In the afternoon we carried on with more of our in-house competition arts and crafts ready for November and even created Geraldine the girly ghost who is on watch out from Whartons lounge window.
Today our ladies had a little pamper from Eva who is here on placement as she went around painting their nails 💅 then we enjoyed our armchair exercises followed by a singalong to some war time music and then some Patsy Cline 🎤🎵🎶

⭐️⭐️ Our Trip to Knowsley Safari Park 9/10/2025 ⭐️⭐️

What a better way to relive your youth than a trip to the safari park!! We had an absolute ball looking at all the animals and going through the animal enclosure 👏🏻👏🏻 we all had a fantastic day from start to finish and made some wonderful memories along the way 🐾🐅🦉🦁🦭🐒

This week we have been starting making our in-house competition entry so keep an eye out for that 👏🏻😍 the theme this month is HALLOWEEN 👻🎃💀
Our lovely Joan and Phyllis enjoyed a bus trip to Walkden where they helped Mandy and Pat pick out some flowers for our corridors on Wharton unit, and if we do say so ourselves they look fantastic! 👏🏻👏🏻
We have started painting poppies for Novembers in-house competition entry and we must say so far it is looking AMAZING!! ❤️ and we cannot wait to show you all the end product 🥰
Some of the ladies had their nails painted 💅 enjoyed a few board game’s! This morning we finished off with armchair exercises, which turned into a talent contest and then karaoke! we even had Shaun joining in 👏🏻 🎤🎵
This afternoon we finished off with everyone’s favourite bingo!! ✍️

Our wellbeing team and residents have been super busy lately 🥵

Firstly we would like to say a big welcome to our lovely Pat who has joined our wellbeing team, She is a very familiar face for our residents as she used to be a carer and we must say she has fitted in fantastically 🥰

Residents enjoyed a lovely pamper from Mandy and pat from facials and makeovers to hand massages and manicures, our ladies deserved a little pampering 🧖‍♀️💆💅
We also popped up some of our Halloween decorations outside and residents enjoyed colouring in some Halloween pictures 🎃👻💀
Pat got residents creative juices flowing decorating both units for autumn and even shown some of our ladies how to decoupage their own pumpkins which are now on show around our home 🍁🍂🎃
Joyce and Margery took a trip down memory lane to the days of a shampoo and set, reading a magazine whilst waiting in the salon enjoying a nice cup of tea and a good old chin-wag. The ladies both remembered doing this well and told us of their experiences in their younger years. 🥰💕
Hylda and lynn enjoyed a stroll for a coffee and some fresh air with Jorden and Pat where they enjoyed all enjoyed a great chat, talking about their lives and also reminiscing, they took a trip down memory lane as they remembered how Little Hulton precinct used to be and the shops that were once there. ☕️🛍️🛒
And our Bobby did fantastic with his walking and pushed himself to do a few laps of the corridor 👏🏻👏🏻
