This week has been a busy little week as we started off with making birthday cards, One of our activities team seen an appeal on facebook asking for people to send birthday cards to two people who are turning 100 and unfortunately have no family, to make a fuss of this great achievement, we decided to contribute and make some lovely handmade cards, which complete with a special message that we hope will put a smile on their faces. One gentleman lives in a carehome in Essex and served in the royal navy and the other who is a lady lives in a carehome in Swinton. Our cards then got posted out to them, to hopefully reach them in time.
we have also been playing our beloved bingo with staff joining in and helping some of our residents. On Wednesday morning we did a little baking where residents on Peel unit made some cookies ready for our visit off the Streetgate stummers in the afternoon, residents off both units came together as the enjoyed the afternoon of entertainment.
Yesterday we did a spot of arts & crafts whilst having a sing along to some of our favourites and reminisced about places our residents used to go dancing back in the day.
Today we had some 1-1 time before some of our ladies off both units came together to enjoy an afternoon of boardgames and dominos. We have nothing but laughter which made our afternoon flyby.
