750 Mako Hips!! 🍾🍾🍾

Many thanks to all my team at Spire Manchester that have helped me reach this huge milestone. It has been a great journey doing everything from super complex hips to straight forward ones, all with the aim of getting patients back to whatever activity they wish. Thanks also to Ben, Paddy and Dom at Stryker for holding my hand. Bring on the 1000th!!!

Many congrats to all the team at Spire Manchester for performing our 2000th Mako robotic joint replacement. I am honoured to have performed the 1st and the 2000th (both hips of course). With my own milestone of 750 Mako Hip Replacements coming up, It has been a huge success and a privilege to be part of. Many thanks to all the team at Orthteam, who have organised a fantastic educational day at the Etihad with over twenty talks to over 250 therapists from local practices to our Premier League teams. We had a great first session from myself and Jim Kerss covering our Hamstring service and two further talks from John Rogers and Adam Hoad-Reddick on athletic bone health

Great to see the A Team back together for our first Hip and Groin clinic of the new season, seeing a patient with chronic groin pain after two previous inguinal surgeries. Many thanks to Prof’s John Rogers, Aali Sheen and of course, super physio Doug Jones for holding the fort while I was off recovering from bilateral nephrectomies. Nothing beats an MDT approach for complex groin pain!

Good luck to Anne, Jojo and Nicola as they embark on their epic Milan to Venice road race to raise money for Kidneys for Life. I had my transplant nearly four years ago and spent this summer recovering from a laparotomy to remove the old ones. I am super grateful to all those who support this great charity
