SPARC is a mental health charity providing therapy, support and social networks for adults 18+ who experience mental health difficulties. A local boy and a lifelong City fan, he was acclaimed as one of the most promising young talents to have ever worn the sky blue shirt. His glittering career, however, was tragically cut short following a serious injury from which he never recovered. After a decade spent working as a sports
physiotherapist, Paul rejoined his old club in April 2010, taking on the role of Ambassador for Manchester City in the Community. In 2013 he was recruited by the Premier League as a Club Support Manager and now works with Academy players and staff at Everton FC, Leeds United FC and Manchester City FC. Paulโ€™s acclaimed autobiography, Iโ€™m Not Really Here, was published by Century in 2011.

Its been much more positive for SPARC this week.
We have partially moved in to our space at Disability Stockport and met members of their lovely team who have made us so very welcome. We have even found a temporary home for our lovely Seagull photo.
Next week we hope to have telephone connection and to create up to date publicity about what SPARC now offers. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and we will bring you a further up date next week.

A quick update from SPARC. As most will know SPARC is no longer based at Progress House. We will soon be moving into a new office space at Disability Stockport and looking forward to getting back on track, acquiring new phones and updating our systems etc., In the meantime our Counselling/therapy service, SPARC4Young Adults and the Nurture Group in partnership with Pure Innovations, will be continuing at a variety of venues around Stockport.
We hope you will forgive us the lack of specific details at this present time; we do hope that we will be able to provide people with more information as time goes on. Please email info@sparc4me.org.uk if you need any further info.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the The National Lottery Community Fund for their ongoing support during these difficult times.
Thank you for your patience and we look forward to telling you about some new developments as time moves on

Sadly Sparc closed its doors at Progress House today. We had a lovely walk and had a group sing along in the local park. It was a lovely way to end something that has been so very special for many years. Sparc staff will be available for telephone calls up to and including Wednesday the 30th July. The centre will then be having work completed for the start of a new era of the Stockport Connect Hub.
The Sparc team wish all of our members nothing but the best of things, good health, friendship and happiness. Please take care and look after each other.

Sparc Members; info and updates regarding the new service will be available on the Stockport Connect Hub FB site.
