IWD-International Women's Day
As this and other news channels gush with self-congratulatory message of International Women’s Day let me say it’s all a sham. Next week it will be mother’s day, so let’s gush about ‘motherhood’.
Most messages are self-marketing. Whilst I understand that this channel is not one for intellectual debate, merely network channel but I felt I had to protest as women’s lot has not improved in many parts of the world.
The problem is the depth of misogynistic modes of thought in Europe and the Muslim /Christian worlds (why does the pope always have to be male).
The rich Arab world has spread the same outdated thoughts to suit their own desires and aims but more has to be done by women themselves and by supporters of equality and human rights to bring the job, skills and leadership opportunities and power that men have and often abuse.

Just look at Imran Khan and the men and looking on. It embedded in some societie
