Our grief is not just about loss.

Our deeper, heart-wrenching grief is the realisation that pure, uncontaminated person-person love is rarely available to us in this human form of fear, ego and barriers.

When we compassionately and courageously touch and deeply accept our real grief, we will see through to the other side of it. A new realisation arises, a knowing that human misunderstanding is so small relative to the beginningless and endless spaciousness of our true nature. We gain an awareness of the space beyond human confusion. The limitless space of Pure Love.

I feel so proud of our gorgeous Reiki Community. Each individual brings something valuable to our Sangha, to each other on a personal level and to the world. This friendship group beams out sincerity, realness and a constant willingness to learn and grow.

“In the Belly of the Earth”

The Earth is inside of us and we are already in the Earth. We don’t need to wait until we die to return to the Earth. We need to learn how to take refuge in Mother Earth—it is the best way to heal and to nourish ourselves. We can do it if we know how to allow the Earth to be, within us and around us—just being aware that we are the Earth. And we don’t have to do much. In fact, we don’t have to do anything at all. It’s like when we were in our mother’s womb. We did not have to breathe, we did not have to eat, because our mother breathed for us and ate for us. We did not have to worry about anything.

You can do the same now when you sit. Allow Mother Earth to sit for you. When you breathe, allow the Earth to breathe for you, when you walk, allow the Earth to walk for you. Don’t make any effort. Allow her to do it. She knows how to do it. Don’t try to do anything. Don’t try to fight in order to sit. Don’t try to breathe in and breathe out. Don’t even try to be peaceful. Allow the Earth to do everything for you.

No amount of positive thinking or avoidance will eliminate human illness. A cancer that belongs to every single one of us.

But when our wisdom is powerful enough, a facing up and a radical stepping up of inner and outer compassion is possible. That cultivation of a peaceful energy, subtly interwoven with and gently embracing, ours and others suffering.

My dear anger, you are a force so powerful that you uproot my most stable peace.

There you go again, violently ripping away my carefully sewn up wounds. That dreaded familiar inner roar vibrating through my entire body and echoing down the ancestral lineage. Your convincing dance of distorted mind stories, easily hypnotising me.

But dear anger, I know you well enough now to see you are just a scared, hurting, lonely child.

I see you and I see through you.

Today I promise to care for you deeply enough to touch the ocean of sadness beneath you. To embrace that sorrow you have been trying to protect since time without beginning.
