WORKSHOP ALERT!

These will be the last workshops of the year due to the not too distant arrival of baby girl 😍

🖌INTRODUCTION TO BRUSH LETTERING FOR BEGINNERS

Unlike my watercolour brush lettering workshops, this class will bring back using different pens to create beautiful colourful lettering. This is the easiest form of lettering to transport and practice anywhere. I last held these classes in 2018 in the Isle of Man only so if this is something that interests you, book now to avoid disappointment!

✒️MODERN CALLIGRAPHY FOR BEGINNERS

A classic class for a reason, join me for your first introduction to the art of using a nib and ink. The same nib and ink I created the contract renewal letter for Erling Haaland with! (Make sure you let me know if you're left handed though 😜)

Practice writing the alphabet and joining up, learn how to write your name and go home with your whole kit to continue your journey beyond the workshop.

Come and join me on Thursday 22nd May in Levenshulme for a relaxing evening learning the art of modern calligraphy. In the Isle of Man I regularly hold workshops of 15+ people but so far, here in Manchester, I’ve stayed small.

Maybe because I’m a small town gal or maybe because I have a little bit of self doubt. Why do we let ourselves stay small when there’s tons of proof that people love what we have to offer!!

PROVE ME WRONG and come along to my first calligraphy workshop outside of Monton. In Station South, Levenshulme we’ll be in a lovely room overlooking the tow path. Let’s manifest for a lovely sunning evening, windows open and a glass full of whatever we fancy.

Friends, crafty followers! I'm holding workshops in March (side note - how is March on SATURDAY?! 😅) I'm sticking with the workshops you all love the most... Modern calligraphy, colourful watercolour brush lettering and due to being asked a few times, an improvers class for calligraphy, too!

Early last week, I was asked to lend my calligraphy skills to for a very special (very secret) announcement. Of course, I accepted and a whirlwind 48 hours commenced.
 
After receiving the script, I wrote the letter three times, stopping at intervals so that it could appear Erling was writing it in the video produced.
 
There was mild panic (from my end) when Erling told me he is left-handed and I had brought my right handed oblique pen. The production was huge and I was temporarily mortified that this could be a pitfall! No matter, I showed him how to hold the pen and he did so beautifully. Even offered to hold it right-handed (probably so I would stop with the panic).

I decided last year to focus on calligraphy services, workshops and special events and this is coming to fruition, and I am so proud of this business I’ve built.
 
I have a few thoughts around this entire situation and how I believe it came about. I didn’t enter 2025 on the best foot. Things weren’t in place as I wanted them to be.
 
I decided to dive into workshops each Sunday and the power of the universe to help my aligned actions along has been mind-blowing to be honest.
 
We will stay the same unless we change. Are we happy how we are? Do we want to improve?
 
One of the things at the top of my list is to work on myself from the inside out. For me, that means mindful eating and exercise, the latter of which is not something that comes naturally to me.
 
Last Monday morning I almost cancelled my gym class. Edie wasn’t well, I had a valid excuse. But I made myself do it, I made myself step into the person I wanted to be and I got that email ON THE DOT as that class finished. 11am.
 
I don’t believe in coincidences; I believe in signs and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to be a part of this.

Written by Emma is back on the Isle of Man with some inspirational creative workshops - including this Agate Slice Decoration...

Come along and learn how to decorate a piece of shiny agate. You’ll learn Emma's tips and tricks, choose your slice and adorn it with calligraphy or an illustration using a nib and white ink.

These agate slices are natural crystals and are hand-picked by Emma, so they are of exceptional quality and, of course, all unique formations from the earth.

You'll begin by practising pressure and strokes and then spend a relaxing couple of hours perfecting your piece.

Included are all the necessary tools and light refreshments. You will also go home with your unique agate slice (plus stand) and care instructions.

Modern calligraphy workshops on 2nd and 12th Feb in Eccles!

We'll be learning the basics with a pointed pen and then creating an art piece/agate slice depending on what you choose to go for! Calligraphy is the perfect activity to get you out of your head and focusing only on what is in front of you.
