The UK’s Mental Health Bill has now become law, modernising the outdated Mental Health Act and bringing mental health legislation into the 21st century. This landmark change aims to strengthen patient rights, increase involvement in care decisions, and ensure detention is used appropriately and respectfully.

Key reforms focus on empowering people with mental health needs, addressing systemic inequalities, and promoting personalised, dignified care with many changes set to be phased in over time.

This is a pivotal moment for mental health support and services across England and Wales!

Olton Grange is a 24/7 enhanced supported living service in Olton Village, providing specialist care for adults with a primary mental health diagnosis. We also support people with learning disabilities, autism and associated conditions.

The service offers 18 en-suite rooms and two self-contained flats, alongside welcoming communal spaces including a fully equipped kitchen and garden. Guided by Northern Healthcare’s clinically informed model, our nursing and support teams work together to promote stability, recovery and greater independence in a therapeutic environment.

Providing 24/7 support, our experienced team helps people move forward from step-down care to achieving everyday skills and long-term goals such as employment.

Our Future Leaders Programme is in full swing!

The programme is a comprehensive leadership development initiative designed to equip aspiring leaders with the skills, confidence, and strategic insight to thrive in service management and beyond.

Last year, 25 delegates graduated from the programme, marking a significant milestone in their leadership journey - 7 of those have secured promotions, while 5 others have stepped into ‘acting up’ opportunities, applying their leadership skills in service environments.

Northern Healthcare | Our Story

Northern Healthcare is a specialist provider of enhanced supported living services. Our multi-disciplinary teams care for people who may need day-to-day support due to their mental health, a learning disability or brain injury.

Established in 2013 with the opening of our first supported residential service, we have expanded across the UK and now have over 15 enhanced supported living facilities. We are privileged to be able to support our residents and we are dedicated to growing our reach across the UK, improving our residents’ quality of life and delivering the highest quality of care.

We work in partnership with external practitioners and community care teams to ensure robust risk management, and ultimately the best possible outcomes for all our residents.

Our aims are always as unique as each individual we support. We pride ourselves on our clinically led, recovery focused model, which provides individuals with access to high-quality nursing, occupational and psychological therapies, as well as dedicated 24-hour support. We develop care plans alongside our residents; their personal goals and aspirations are always at the heart of everything we do.
