Currently reading 12 Rules for Life by Jordan Peterson, and I'm gaining SO MUCH wisdom from this book. I particularly liked rule 2: treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping. This chapter brings to light something that immediately resonated with me: why can we help and prioritise others (and our pets) but not ourselves?

Gosh, good question! For a long time, I used to put others before myself. And as I went into a difficult time during Covid with my mental health, I released how essential it was to care for myself, and it took me a while to come to terms with the fact that it's not selfish to help yourself first.

It's a work in progress, but I now feel less and less guilty for doing things that make me feel good and happy 💕✨

The sea has the incredible power to make me feel at peace. It's like medicine for my body and soul. I always feel so relaxed watching and hearing the waves rolling on the shore. It brings me back to my happy place 🌊✨

+ almost managed a full split. Still have work to do but couldn't be happier with the progress! 🙌🏻

Steal this flow & get ready to fly 🕊

Here is a little balancing sequence perfect for kicking off your week. Save it & give it a try on both sides. And let me know how it goes!

Have a lovely week 💕

PS - I paused slightly after my fallen angel as I'm so used to going into a plank or chaturanga afterwards - it has become a default move. Expect this time, I knew I wanted to land in a chair pose, but it took me a second to get my legs in the right place aha. I think it's great to switch our default behaviours and try to imagine new ways of moving and reacting. I loved it, and I'm glad I tried something different.

✨ reminder ✨
it’s not selfish to love yourself
to take care of yourself
or to make your happiness a priority
it’s NECESSARY

Something I learned the hard way after feeling guilty for prioritising myself and ending up burning down several times...

And something I’m still learning! Most of the time, when I do something for myself, I feel like I’m not productive enough and have guilt for having fun or doing something just because it makes me happy. WHY??

The good thing is that I know I can shift my mindset, and I don’t need validation from anybody to be here for ME. And you can too!

Make yourself a priority 💕

Go slow to go fast 🐢✨

Often when I feel busy and overwhelmed, I tend to act on things rather than step back, feeling like I can't stop because "I have too many things to do". So I keep hustling until I realise the best thing I can do is stop, take a break and slow down. It allows me to notice how I feel and if what I do matches my goals and core desires. If not, I can then take the time to understand the situation and refocus on what matters.

And when I forget or feel pressured, I have this little reminder note on my desk that says: it's a marathon, not a race!

I had so much fun doing this creative sequence today! Since returning to my regular practice, I’ve been trying to be more myself on the mat and less rigid. I’ve been creating more sequences like that and having fun with challenging/playful transitions, which makes me enjoy my practice even more 🤸🏻‍♀️

I’ve also started the Rise Up Stronger challenge from , and my body is on fire!! 🔥 I feel like a pancake at the moment aha, but it’s also exactly what I needed after a short break to regain my strength and confidence 💪🏼

Sunsets are my favourite 🧡 I can't imagine a better end to the day than being outside and watching the sun slowly setting over the horizon. It makes me feel at peace. It's a time when I disconnect from my busy mind to be PRESENT. And it always feels so good ✨

I'm currently reading The Desire Map, and it's exactly what I needed right now! If you haven't heard about it, the book talks about setting goals with your soul - meaning, setting goals based on how you want to feel.

Last year, I based my life around numbers and material things to guide me through my days and weeks, and I felt miserable. I set high goals for myself and felt I had to achieve them in order to be happy, proud and successful.

It took me a while to take a step back and get out of this mindset. It wasn't until a few weeks ago when I came back from my trip to Copenhagen that I realised how sad and anxious I felt and how I didn't want to feel anymore. I wanted to feel good, happy and free! So I took a step in that direction, stopped anything that made me feel sh*** and started integrating more of what feels good - such as yoga, mindfulness and wellness.

"You're not chasing the goal, you're chasing a feeling you hope reaching the goal will give you."

I couldn't recommend this book enough to live a life you love and feel how you want to feel EVERY DAY 💫

Gentle poses for tight hips ✨

Here are four poses to open and create space in the hips, increasing mobility and flexibility and stimulating hydration to the tissues around the hip joints.

• Supported butterfly pose
• Supported pigeon pose
• Supported cow face pose
• Supported half frog pose

Grab as many pillows, blocks and bolsters as you need to support your body. Remember to breathe through each pose. Use your inhale to create length and notice where you hold tightness. Use your exhale to deeper fold into the posture and let the tension melt away.

Enjoy 🤎

Crunch and I wish you a lovely day! 🌿✨Don't forget to take time for yourself today. You deserve it 💛
