Our fantastic ISVA Jayne recently received an Unsung Hero award at the GMP Rochdale District awards 2025. Rochdale Police - GMP

We're so proud of the hard work and compassion that Jayne gives every day to her clients and we can't think of anyone more deserving.
The nomination from DCI Williams:
Jayne has helped countless numbers of victims and survivors here at Rochdale over the years and currently supports over 150 victims of sexual violence. Jayne supports district officers with facilitating victim contact, building trust and in providing practical and emotional support, information, and advice for all her victims as they attend court and provide evidence.

Jayne provided support to one of her victims in 2019, leaving a long-lasting impact on the victim’s life. Despite no longer being open to service, the victim contacted Jayne recently to say when she is having a bad day she remembers how, during the investigation and subsequent trial, Jayne empowered her to continue. This keeps her going and reminds her of what she can achieve and that she has the resilience to push through the bad times. The victim was very brave and waved her right to special measures at court, facing the stranger who r***d her during a chance encounter. Jayne was with her 100% of the way including being sat in the court room every day, as a friendly, reassuring face. The defendant, a dangerous offender, pleaded not guilty however was found guilty of r**e and was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.

Jayne is a pleasure to work with, dedicated, calm, passionate and caring, she exemplifies best practice and the highest professional standards in all she does, Jayne ensures officers receive appropriate training and development in investigating sexual violence, further supporting GMP to deliver a victim centred, suspect focused, context led approach.

Jayne is a strong advocate for all victims within the criminal justice system and she wholeheartedly deserves this recognition.
