Deciding to begin talking therapy can feel daunting. I offer a FREE 20-minute telephone or video call to answer any questions you may have.

Our first full session would be an assessment. This is an opportunity to:
* EXPLORE what has brought you to therapy and your goals.
* SHARE key aspects of your history and where you are now.
* UNDERSTAND how I can support you, the types of therapy I can provide, my qualifications and professional standards.
* Begin to BUILD TRUST through openness, honesty, congruence, compassion and non-judgemental acceptance.
* Attend to any CONCERNS or questions you may have.
* Sense if we are a GOOD FIT to work together. If so, we would agree a contract to set mutual boundaries and expectations.

After the assessment is complete, we would agree to:
* An initial block of 6 or 8 sessions.
* Sessions on the same day and time each week.
* Meet online, in a therapy room, walk & talk/ecotherapy or a combination of these.
Therapy rooms and ecotherapy locations: Chorlton (Manchester) and Saddleworth.

When we are coming towards the end of our initial block of sessions, we would then agree to either:
1. Transition to an open-ended contract; or
2. Work towards a good ending.

If you would like to explore the benefits of talking therapy, please contact Paul for a FREE 20-minute call:

“Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.” - Dr Peter Levine

We are all traumatised to some degree. We don't have to have been subjected to an extreme event such as a terrorist attack, a sexual assault or a war zone. Trauma happens when we are subjected to any emotionally or psychologically distressing experience that we cannot deal with alone and we lack an empathetic witness to provide supportive care, grounding and reassurance.

Certain types of psychotherapy can help us process and heal trauma. Please get in touch if you would like to explore this. I currently have weekday slots available online and face-to-face in Chorlton (Manchester) and Saddleworth - in the therapy rooms or 'walk & talk' sessions in nature.

Here's a talk I did about trauma a few years ago:

we have come to our real work,
and that when we no longer know which way to go
we have come to our real journey. ~ Wendell Berry

Come rain or sunshine, the spring brings lots of wonderful opportunities to enjoy nature - and boost your mental health while doing so. 🍃🌼

1/ Go for a spring walk and tap into your senses - what do you see, hear, smell, and touch?

2/ Tend to your garden or houseplants, are you seeing any start to blossom?

3/ Get in touch with your creative side and draw, paint or collage spring’s nature.

4/ Animal lover? Walk in the countryside or visit a city farm and spot the new arrivals!

5/ Feeling adventurous? Go on a spring scavenger hunt and discover nature (find resources at Woodland Trust).

What are spring activities you enjoy, that bring you closer to nature? Let us know by commenting! 💬

It's Maternal Mental Health Week, a time to raise awareness of the importance of mental health during and after pregnancy.

We know that around 1 in 5 women experience mental health problems during pregnancy or within the first year after giving birth, yet nearly half of these cases go undiagnosed or untreated.

These figures highlight the need for greater awareness and access to support for all mothers.

The theme this year is ‘Your voice, your strength’. It's a reminder of the importance of listening to, and learning from, the experiences of mothers. Through our programmes, we work with mothers to create safe, inclusive spaces where they can talk openly about what they're going through and access the support they need.

We're working to make sure every mother has the opportunity to thrive during this important time in their lives.

Pathlight Ltd are offering this fantastic looking workshop next month.

I’m excited to announce this group therapeutic workshop, which I’ll be facilitating in April.

In this transpersonal weekend workshop, we will use the lens of mythology to come into relationship with our unconscious ‘personal myth’ – the limiting stories we tell ourselves that hold us back. We will then connect to the numinous, archetypal wisdom, themes and energy of the Hero’s Journey myths.

Through creative work including visualisation, meditation, artwork and writing, we may transform our relationship with those fear-based barriers and invite more spiritual wholeness, inspiration, liberation and belief.

If you would like to work creatively with mythology to explore what more life may hold for you, please get in touch ASAP*

* Open to adult heroes and heroines who are in therapy and/or have a strong spiritual practice.
