Hiatus Hernia and Weight Loss Surgery🔎

Occasionally, a hiatus hernia may be discovered during weight loss surgery. This is when part of the stomach pushes up into the chest through the diaphragm.

The good news? Skilled surgeons can often repair a hiatus hernia during the same procedure, ensuring a safer and more comfortable recovery.

If you have questions about hiatus hernias or how they might affect your surgery, I’m here to provide answers and support.

What Time Will My Surgery Be?🕰️

One of the most common questions I get is: “What time will my surgery be?”

While your procedure will be booked for a certain day, the exact time often isn’t confirmed until closer to — or even on — the day itself. Theatre lists can shift depending on medical needs and how the day unfolds.

I know that uncertainty can be a bit stressful, but please know I’ll keep you updated and supported every step of the way. Bring something to keep you comfy, a book, headphones, or even your favourite hoodie 💙

You’ve got this and I’ve got you.
