Today is Father's Day💜

Whilst today can be a happy day full of cards and gifts, for other families it can be a more challenging time😞

So, whether you and your dad are super close, or things are a little more distant – whatever your relationship is; we want to wish everyone a very happy Sunday (celebrating or not)✨

As a man, do you feel comfortable talking about your feelings?🫂

This week is Men's Health Week, and we want to open up the conversation surrounding men's mental health❤️‍🩹

In the UK, about 40% of men who report experiencing mental health issues don't feel comfortable talking about it with their family, friends, or a healthcare professional, according to Wigan Council. That's 1.8 million men across the country😢

Reach out to the men in your lives. Dad's, brothers, uncles, cousins, colleagues. We all deserve the opportunity to open up and vent about our worries. Offer that cup of tea, you could just save someone's life☕

"We are nothing without our people and if our people are not physically, mentally strong then we are not able to deliver the services that we are here to provide to thousands of young people across Manchester and Salford"✨

We recently sat down Patti Holmes, Deputy Chief Executive of Empower Youth Zones. EYZ provide education and opportunities for young people with additional needs or disabilities in Manchester and Salford❤️‍🩹

Working in a charity that supports young people can be emotionally demanding, so that’s where we come in. We provide an Employee Assistance Programme which allows employees to have access to confidential counselling to offload and receive guidance moving forward🫂

Thankyou so much to Patti for sitting down and talking with us about how our services have positively impacted their team. If your team are looking for an EAP, get in contact with us! We’d love to chat. Give us a call on 0800 206 2552 or fill in this form and we’ll contact you https://www.healthassured.org/request-quote/ 💻

7% of the population reported often feeling lonely – that’s about 3.1 million people in England😶

It seems that we’re all more connected than ever, with social media at the forefront of most of our lives. Yet there are people that go days, even weeks without seeing..anyone❤️‍🩹

There is power in human connection, so reach out to the people around you. Check in, have a cup of tea or just have a chat. You could brighten their day🌞

Do you feel like you're in touch with your mental health? Do you talk about it? Maybe it's a topic you shy away from😶‍🌫️

Well you're not alone. A significant portion of the population in the UK do not discuss their mental health, with research indicating that nearly two-thirds of adults (64%) just put on a "brave face" to avoid talking about it💔

That's where we come in, to help make that conversation easier. In our newest episode of the Peace of Mind podcast, Lead Counsellor Sofia Feghali sat down with Lead Counsellor Brittany Chambers to talk about the importance of opening up and talking about our mental health in all aspects - the good, the bad and those more challenging conversations🧠
