Clinical Neuropsychology Services Clinical Neuropsychology Services (CNS) provide neuropsychology assessment and intervention services

Clinical Neuropsychology Services (CNS) provide clinical neuropsychological assessment and treatment services for children and adolescents aged 0 to 17 years old, and adults aged 18 to 25 years old. Referrals can be received from case management companies, general practitioners, medical specialists, allied health professionals and by family self-referral. CNS specialise in providing clinical neuropsychology services for children with acquired brain injury (ABI). CNS are based in Manchester, but services can be provided throughout England and Wales, including in homes, schools, colleges and residential settings.

We’re proud to announce that our Founder and Lead Clinical Neuropsychologist, Dr Penny Trayner , will be speaking at TEDxTrafford 2025!

On Saturday 29th November, Penny will take to the TEDx stage to deliver her first ever TED Talk: “Rooted & Rising: Stories of Identity and Community Resilience.”

Drawing on her experience as a Third Culture Kid and her two decades as a Chartered Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist, Penny will explore how our cultural roots shape the ways we support children’s growth and wellbeing.

Penny’s work has always centred on helping children, young people, and families adapt and thrive after life-changing events. As the founder of CNS, creator of Kompass Health, and co-founder of BPM Rehab, the world’s first DJing for rehabilitation programme, Penny continues to innovate in the field of rehabilitation.

Her talk brings together personal heritage, professional insight, and a simple yet powerful question that could change how we live.

Our story

Clinical Neuropsychology Services was founded by Dr Penny Trayner, a Chartered Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and the British Psychological Society. For the past 10 years, Dr Trayner has specialised in providing community-based neuropsychological rehabilitation services for children and young people after acquired brain injury. CNS was established in 2012 and now provides assessment and intervention services for children and families throughout the UK.
