MY STORY In 2014 I found myself with some major life changing events. Suddenly at 44 years old I was single again. Both of my children were now grown and had joined the Air Force. I was extremely proud of where my kids were in life but now, what to do with all of my spare time? After watching my twin sister transform her body and compete in her first bodybuilding competition I thought to myself what better way to keep my mind distracted and finally after 20 plus years, I could focus on myself. So, I signed up for my first Bikini Fitness Bodybuilding Competition.
Little did I know how much that would not only transform my body, it transformed my life. I completely changed my eating habits and never missed a day of working out for 8 months. I lost 40 lbs and am now healthier, fitter and more confident than I have ever been in my life.
Although I was fit and was healthier than ever, I still had borderline high cholesterol (it runs in my family). I decided to try a plant-based diet to see if that might help. Three years later and I had my cholesterol checked, my cholesterol was completely normal now. No more high cholesterol!
