💡Answer: There are several reasons, including anxiety, caffeine, too much screen time, and more.
You’re feeling absolutely exhausted but as soon as you hit the pillow you’re wide awake, sound familiar?
Anxiety is one enemy. Racing thoughts, in particular. Your body might be ready to call it day, but your mind won’t quit. Try to meditate or listen to calming music.
It’s pretty obvious why caffeine could be a cause. But note that you can still enjoy your daily coffee or tea.
Just don’t drink too much and too late. Aim for a final cup at least 6 hours before it’s time to hit the sack.
You might be successful at laying down the law when it comes to limiting kids’ screen time. But don’t forget that the same applies to you as an adult. Blue light from your gadgets is the bane of melatonin, the hormone that helps you sleep.
One thing you can do no matter the cause is to establish a sleep and wake schedule. Go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Your body and brain will adapt. Eventually, you’ll nod off faster and sleep better.
