Helping individuals and families in Greater Manchester, overcome challenges from alcohol &/drugs

ADS is the oldest remaining drug and alcohol charity in Greater Manchester. Founded in 1973 by the family members of a man with alcohol problems we are proud of our rich Greater Manchester heritage. After a period of uncertainty we now look to return to our roots and get back to supporting people in the communities of Greater Manchester to overcome addictions to drugs, alcohol and prescription medications. Our new website with assessment for drug and alcohol problems and advice, guidance and information resources will be launching soon and then watch us grow! Our plan is to provide support in all 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester, delivering sessions direct in the communities where we are needed, to the people who need us. We will cut red tape and bureaucracy and instead focus on the human connection, learning what support people want and need by having conversations with them and most importantly listening to them. Follow our journey, support us by volunteering, contact us if you need support.

Some drug combinations greatly increase the risk of or serious harm. You cannot always predict how they will interact in your system.

If you're not already doing so, please carry - just in case. It helps reverse overdose from until an ambulance arrives- literally saving lives... even if you're not using them, can sometimes be contaminated. You can get it from your local drug and service.
