Company Profile

CES (formerly known as Special Projects Security) was founded in 1989 in direct response to the Governments call for improvements in safety at football grounds in the wake of the Hillsborough disaster and the ensuing Taylor Report. The company's first and now longest standing client is Manchester United Football Club. It was quickly realized however that the valuable lessons and principals learnt from managing large crowds at Old Trafford could be applied in other arenas and venues. Consequently CES began to expand its business to those areas where large crowds came together for the purposes of watching sport or entertainment, and where customer safety was the primary consideration. Consequently, we place great emphasis on the interpersonal skills of our staff to ensure that they are able to deliver the highest standards of customer care and service within our varying environments. The provision of highly trained, accredited and licensed safety and security personnel to the sports, leisure and entertainment industry still remains the 'core' business of the group through CES. However, that company has now grown from its original mission statement through the incorporation of Controlled Guarding Solutions to include the guarding of sports, leisure and ancillary facilities (including key holding services), and Controlled Training Solutions, providing recognized training and accredited qualifications.

Big thankyou to everyone at The Crown Oil Arena for their warm hospitality during last Saturday’s National League 3.00pm kick-off and my latest Level 2 Spectator Safety observational assessments.

Well done to all involved for really informative briefings / debriefings and some excellent customer service from an impressive cohort of learners, who performed professionally throughout Rochdale Association Football Club’s game with Yeovil Town Football Club.

Great to be amongst fantastic local support and hats off to the Yeovil fans who were still in good spirits despite a nine hour round trip. Special thanks to Chris Garland, Mark Doyle, Damian and Lee Oneil. Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday 4th November for the visit of Scunthorpe United Football Club

Congratulations to Kevin Scott who was nominated as employee of the month for June. Kevin started working at CSG in August 2014 then started working as a Full Time security officer May last year.

Kevin goes above and beyond, works very hard and is a pleasure to work with, Kevin adopts a positive attitude, and does a fantastic job in everything he does, most recently with his own role at the Stadium, as well as assisting over at Lancashire Cricket in there Control Room on his days off.

Congratulations to Austin Cowburn who was nominated as employee of the month for May. Austin started working at CSG in November 2015 then started working as our Full Time Training Manager In 2023.
