Every year, during the month of June, the LGBTIQA+ community celebrates Pride Month.

Internally, we created our Push Doctor Pride Newsletter, where members of the team shared their stories and experiences of why Pride is important to them in support and celebration of Pride Month.

Whether you’re part of the community or an ally, listening to others' experiences to broaden your understanding is key!🌈

After months of the Coronavirus dominating the news, people being stuck inside, and worries surrounding the health of friends and family, many patients have been suffering with their mental health.

This period has been especially difficult for long-term anxiety sufferers. Those who have suffered with anxiety will know that the body can develop physical symptoms, such as breathing difficulties, loss of senses such as taste and smell, and changes in body temperature.

The problem with symptoms like these is that they are the exact symptoms people are looking out for when it comes to Covid-19.

Dr Tom Micklewright helps to distinguish between the two in this article “Can anxiety mimic Coronavirus symptoms and how can you tell the difference?”

With the horrors of COVID-19 dominating the news, a lot of people are struggling with their mental health. Whether you’re worried about the wellbeing of yourself or your family, stressed about being cooped up inside for months, or just feeling…

The situation in primary care has been uncertain for some time. Covid has had direct impacts on healthcare services, and as lockdown measures continue to be lifted, the areas of healthcare in which we have seen a decline in patients, may now see a heightened demand.

It is almost impossible for care providers to predict when and how hard this wave of demand will hit.

Remote consultations with Push Doctor digital locums can provide a safe and effective contingency plan, enabling CCGs to react to peaks in demand with additional capacity, scaling hundreds of additional appointments a day, with flexible time frames allowing the appointments to be used at any time for the rest of the year.

What will Primary Care look like after Covid?

It’s a question that many of us have asked, but none of us actually know for certain the answer.

Push Doctor Associate Medical Director and GP, Dr Tom Micklewright, gives his views in this article, “General Practice after Covid-19”, looking at the changes we have seen over the last 3 months, which of these changes may be here to stay, which will go, and how services will continue to evolve.

What other changes have you seen in Primary Care that you think are here to stay?

As the COVID-19 lockdown eases, how will General Practice be changed by the pandemic? What will stay? What will go? And what will evolve?

Following the recent data breach within a GP app this week, we recognise that there will be concern among patients around data security. Therefore, we would like to reassure those who are using Push Doctor to access digital healthcare, by clarifying our position on our data security commitments.

We consider patient safety and data protection paramount in providing services on behalf of the NHS, and we have worked with NHS Digital as the recognised technical authority for assurance against NHS standards. In doing so, we were required to demonstrate that we meet the most stringent of standards across clinical safety, data security and interoperability.

We do not record any patient video consultations and we take the security of the confidential information shared in consultations very seriously. We know that healthcare is such a sensitive and private part of people’s lives, and we also know that many patients have historically been cautious about accessing healthcare through digital means. We have always wanted to reassure them, through building a service that is completely confidential and patient centred.

We remain committed to supporting the NHS in delivering safe, high-quality clinical care and services, so that everyone can benefit from accessing digital healthcare services safely and securely.

This we've launched a free well-being service for our partner key health workers, including GPs, practice nurses and care navigators. This project, "Your Health Matters Too" means a lot to us here at Push Doctor.

The dedication and commitment shown by our frontline NHS staff in the battle against has been incredible, matched only by increased personal challenges faced by dealing with a national emergency.

We hope we can provide a little bit of support to those who need it. To find out more about the service, head to: https://www.pushdoctor.co.uk/your-health-matters-too-press

We are so pleased to announce our partnership with the largest NHS insourcing specialist, Medinet!

Joining forces allows us to create a remote service which provides at-home patient access to hospital consultants during the Covid-19 outbreak and beyond.

Enabling consultants who are self-isolating, or who are at risk for their own health reasons is key, as well as allowing vulnerable patients to continue accessing care from their home:
