We were recently sent this heartwarming story by Doug Seel. While visiting T Cribb & Sons, the country’s largest horse drawn funeral company, Doug spoke with their Head Coachman, Peter Gibson.

Peter remembered travelling to Radcliffe around 20 years ago to carry out a horse drawn funeral for us. He even searched through their records and found the original plaque they made for the day, and sent us over this photo.

It's always lovely to hear stories from people who have lasting connections with our family business.

This month we’re proud to support the Life Support Group Little Lever, a local mental health charity doing incredible work to support people in the community.

Plans are underway to create a new community hub on Mytham Road that will host everything from a café and art classes to youth workshops and support groups. It’s a space designed to bring people together and offer meaningful support.

As part of our 150th anniversary celebrations we are donating £150 each month to local charities. If we reach 150 more followers this month across our social media platforms the donation to Life Support Group will increase to £500.

Please like follow and share to help us support this fantastic cause.

It was great to speak at the North West SAIF SAIF independent funeral directors meeting last week, where Paul, who also serves as second vice president of the funeral association, shared updates and insights on the opportunities and challenges within the funeral profession.

SAIF, the National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors, play an important role in supporting independent funeral directors across the UK. It was a valuable chance to connect, reflect and look ahead together as a sector. We look forward to the next one!

A throwback showing some of our family business's first hearses: the Austin Princess Limousines and the Austin Princess 3 Litre Hearse. In 1968, our business officially became Silletts Funeral Service, as it stands today, formerly known as Josiah Sillett & Sons.

We're proud to say we are still serving local families with the same care and commitment started by our family all those generations ago.
