❄️ Due to the adverse weather conditions across Cheshire East, it’s currently not safe or possible for our crews to carry out bin collections so far today.
⏳ We are waiting for the conditions to improve and will update residents with more information as soon as possible.
🌨️ The adverse weather conditions are forecast to last for the week commencing 5th January and may impact other collections scheduled for this week.
Where safe to do so, please put your bins out on your scheduled collection day and we’ll continue to keep residents updated.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Sharing with you some valuable insights from the comment section from people who support their loved ones with dementia:

“Don’t try to correct your loved one when they say something that is incorrect. Just agree with their reality and ask questions based on their reality.” - Cheryl

“Accept the love, help and support that is offered. You can not do this alone.”- Gary

“Your mood can affect your loved one living with dementia. Being positive and happy, even singing or whistling (!) can lift their mood and even help them to forget what they're fretting about. Took me awhile to get this one.” -Shirley

“Don't feel guilty about having time for yourself.” Rachel

“Try to keep daily routines as consistent as possible, and use simple memory aids like calendars, labels, or notes around the home-these small steps can help make things feel less overwhelming for someone living with dementia.” -Evie

We know that many people receive little to no practical support after a dementia diagnosis. 💙

Let's help change this together. If you live with dementia, or care for someone who does, what's the best practical tip you can share?

This could be a living aid, assistive technology, support groups, or ways to make the home accessible.

Check bus services. Plan ahead.

Some bus services across Greater Manchester will be disrupted this week, following confirmation that staff from one operator, Metroline, will still go ahead with planned strikes.

We urge all passengers to check whether their bus service is running as normal or will not run due to strike action
