๐Ÿ“ข Saturday GP Clinic for Older Patients

Weโ€™re pleased to announce that we will be holding a Saturday GP clinic for our elderly patients, giving you the opportunity to attend with family members for general health concerns and wellbeing checks.

Appointments can include:
โœ”๏ธ General health queries
โœ”๏ธ Wellbeing checks
โœ”๏ธ Monitoring such as blood pressure checks

We recognise that many patients prefer to have family with them at GP appointments, but work and other commitments during the week can make this difficult. This clinic is designed to make things a little easier and more accessible for you.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ Dr Connell will be seeing patients on Saturday 14th March

We recognise there is a real need for this service. Please help us spread the word among family and friends who may benefit.

๐Ÿ“ž Please contact the practice to book an appointment: 0161-775-7033

A little while ago, a very soft, very adorable toy dog wandered into our reception area and has been patiently waiting for someone to come back for him.
Heโ€™s been extremely well-behaved, hasnโ€™t barked once, and is currently surviving on a strict diet of cuddles and sympathy.

We think he might be missing his humanโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ’›
If you recognise this brave little adventurer, please come rescue him and bring him home!

๐Ÿ“ฃ Still thinking about antibiotics? Letโ€™s talk!

Itโ€™s World AMR Awareness Week 2025, and we want to remind everyone that antibiotics arenโ€™t always the answer.

Most coughs, colds, sore throats and flu-like illnesses get better on their own with rest, fluids and time. Taking antibiotics when you donโ€™t need them makes them less effective when you do.

๐Ÿง  Remember:

Antibiotics donโ€™t work for viruses โŒ

Only take antibiotics prescribed specifically for you ๐Ÿ’Š

Finish the full course if prescribed โœ…

Speak to us if you're unsure โ€” we're here to help! ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ

Letโ€™s protect antibiotics, together.
For today โ€” for tomorrow. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒ World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week 2025
๐Ÿ“… 18โ€“24 November

At Partington Family Practice, weโ€™re joining the global effort to raise awareness about antimicrobial resistance โ€” one of the most urgent health challenges of our time.

๐Ÿ’Š What is AMR?
Antimicrobial resistance happens when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change over time and stop responding to medicines like antibiotics. This makes infections harder to treat and increases the risk of disease spread, severe illness and death.

โœ… How YOU can help:

Only use antibiotics when prescribed by a healthcare professional
Never pressure your doctor for antibiotics โ€” they donโ€™t work for colds, flu or most sore throats
Always take antibiotics exactly as directed
Never share antibiotics or use leftovers
Keep up to date with vaccinations to prevent infections
Together, we can protect antibiotics for future generations.

๐Ÿ’™ Thank you for helping us keep our community safe.

๐Ÿ“… World Diabetes Day โ€“ November 14th

Today we join the global community in recognising World Diabetes Day, a reminder of the importance of awareness, early detection, and ongoing support for everyone affected by diabetes.

At our surgery, diabetes care is one of our highest priorities. We are proud that one of our GPs, Dr Hider, is the Clinical Lead for Diabetes Prevention in Greater Manchester, helping shape care across our region.

Here at the practice, our dedicated Practice Nurse and Healthcare Assistant run weekly diabetic clinics, offering personalised support, reviews, and advice to help our patients manage their health and feel empowered every step of the way.

๐Ÿ’™ To all our patients living with diabetes, we are here for you today and every day. Your health matters, and you are never alone in your journey.

If you have concerns about diabetes or want more information about our support services, please contact the surgery. We are always here to help. ๐Ÿ’™
