Good morning, everyone! 👋 It’s been a little while since I last shared an earwax removal video, but I’ve got a particularly juicy one for you today! 👀

This patient came in with a completely blocked ear, and as I carefully removed the wax plug, I uncovered something unexpected—a hidden infection beneath a layer of crusty dead skin. This just goes to show that earwax blockages can do more than just muffle your hearing—they can also trap infections!

Did you know the average length of a human ear canal is 2.5cm? The inner third of the canal is known as the bony portion- it is particularly sensitive due to the lack of ‘cushioning’.

So you can imagine how much discomfort this patient was in. These hard, compressed wax pellets filled the whole of the ear canal!

Well, we are only four months in… but I’ll take this lovely feedback!! This client’s ear looked clear on first inspection but there was a very thin film of skin covering his eardrum which was making him feel blocked. I VERY carefully removed it using precision microsuction with a fine end tip.
