🔷This weekend was the start of year 3 for me studying and training for my degree to become an Osteopath. It’s a 4 year degree course so I still have a while to go yet, but the first two years flew by.

🔷Many of you who have gotten to know me know that I love learning and improving and so this degree was the perfect choice for me.

🔷Some of my clients already know I attend Uni on a part time basis. For those finding out now, or for people thinking they may attend my clinic in the near future just know that I will be closed for 18 weekends over the next academic year to attend classes and exams.

🔷Along with attending Uni there is obviously lots of self study I have to do which I fit in between clients and on my less busy days, and I also attend a teaching clinic where I treat members of the public.

🔷Running my own Sports Massage Clinic whilst also studying to become an Osteopath means I am able to utilise my skills in diagnosing and treating more conditions and providing a wider range of treatment options.

🔷Thank you to all those people who have supporting throughout this journey, it really means the world to me.

Another first place finish!!! 🏆
After a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike and a 1km sprint to the finish line, my client won the Aqua-Bike!!
Not only was she the first female to cross the finish line, but she came in third overall 🔥
Her next race is very close so I can’t wait to see how she performs in that one.

WHAT TO EXPECT SERIES...

At your first appointment with me, referred to as your initial consultation, there’s a little bit of paperwork I do first. This isn’t anything too extensive, it begins with the usually, name, address, DOB, and then your occupation as this may be the reason for your visit?!

I also ask you a few questions relating to your medical history and if you take any medications, as, for example, blood thinners change the way I may be able to treat you etc.

After that I want to know how I can help you. What’s brought you to see me today, when did it start, do you think you know what’s caused it, where is it on the pain scale etc etc. mostly for this part I just listen and write, although I may prompt you if I feel there’s more information I haven’t asked for.

After this I do a full postural assessment and range of motion testing as you’ve seen in previous posts.

Anyone can just rub a sore back or hamstring etc, but I’m looking to find the cause of the issue and fix it.

came in for her regular sports massage and brought with her yet another 1st place trophy from a recent sprint triathlon. Winning has meant she now has a place in the world championship sprint triathlon next year.

Her season this year, so far, consists of back to back wins in all her competitions, and with her next race coming up very soon I’m sure she’ll be making room at home for more 1st place trophies and medals.

WHAT TO EXPECT SERIES...

Not sure what to wear to your massage appointment? You’re not alone — it’s one of the most common questions I get!

Here’s a quick guide:
👕 Upper body issues (neck, shoulders, back)?
Loose-fitting tops and/or a sports bra work great.

🩳 Lower body (hips, legs, knees)?
Comfy shorts are ideal, something you can move easily in.

The most important thing...wear what you feel comfortable in.
I’ll always talk you through what’s needed and make sure you’re covered and supported throughout your treatment.
