Unexpectedly, our attention this month shifted to the Royal Family due to the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

This has had a profound effect on our residents and staff and we have taken time to mourn, reflect and be thankful for her service to our Country.

Churchfield Care Home couldn't forget a very special date in the calendar... World Chocolate Day! It was chocolate galore here! Residents had a variety of chocolate treats including chocolate filled crepes, chocolates milkshakes with cream, chocolate trifle and an array of flavoured chocolate to suit all taste buds! Residents enjoyed a delicious cheese and wine tasting session recently. We had a selection of Stilton, Cheshire, Brie, Wensleydale with Cranberries and Chilli Cheeses which residents enjoy most. We also tasted a selection of rose, white and Prosecco wines.

With the weather getting better, many of our residents have been outdoors enjoying the glorious sunshine! Whether it be sitting outside taking in the beautiful scenery or for our more green fingered residents, pottering in our garden is a great way to spend the afternoon.

We took part in lots of Easter activities like Easter Bonnet crafting and games such as 'Chase the Bunny' over the last few weeks. On Easter Sunday, we were lucky to have had a visit from the Easter Bunny who handed each resident an individual chocolate egg!

We also held an Easter Raffle where we raised £53.00 for our resident's fund. Well done to the three raffle winners!
