One of our lovely ladies has spent many years in a Voluntary role helping people , and still loves to help …. So this morning we paid a visit to our laundry ladies and helped them put the laundry away . This kind of activity gives our residents a sense of purpose & meaning , makes them feel part of our little community , and gets their daily excercise in too 🤩

After all of the Move More this morning we relaxed with some of our residents choosing to play table top games and others watching a wild life documentary which they were engrossed with.

We all happily discussed the animals, their favourite animals, their experiences of visiting zoos and one lady telling us about how she rode on a camel.

Great little team exercise on the Willows unit for Move More Monday. Promoting social skills, working as a team, gross and fine motor skills and hand eye co-ordination whilst having a fun friendly team challenge. Each team had a hoop on a piece of string which they worked together to get it from one side to the other whilst trying to beat the the other team. They got better and faster with each time that they completed it.

Friday Fun Day on the Meadows, we did dancing with scarves, exercises with stretch bands, music therapy with musical instruments, actions to familiar party songs like I am a music man and superman, sensory stimulation and bubble therapy. We had a fun filled day with lots of smiles.

How great is this, during a one to one session yesterday our lovely Olive suddenly sang this to me. I just had to share it for you all to hear. Olive said that this video will make her famous so please leave a comment or just a like on so that I can show her what everyone thinks.

We continued our travel to America day with a choice of delicious milkshakes.

On the Meadows unit we had a sing-a-long to jukebox box music whilst playing catch with a soccer ball and then looked at some well known famous American stars.

On the Willows unit we did an American landmark quiz, American word game and some of the residents did an American candy and American soccer wordsearch independently.

What a day we had! Next month we will be travelling to Italy at the residents request.

This week we traveled to America, the resident's got a true feeling of dining in an American diner with jukebox music playing in the background.
