This morning we will be conducting a horse-drawn funeral, departing from Ashover Road, Old Tupton at approximately 11:00am, travelling to Chesterfield and District Crematorium, Brimington for 12 noon.

We kindly ask for your patience and understanding along the route. If you are able to pause for a moment and allow the procession to pass safely, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your consideration and support.

Shared with the kind permission of the family.

How lovely it was to open this email, especially at such a difficult time. Being asked to speak at the service of a loved one is always an absolute privilege 🤍

Dear Cheryl

I just wanted to send you a personal message of thanks. Not only for the wonderful memorial service but also the way you professionally presented the whole experience. You conveyed all our memories beautifully.

I also wanted to thank you for listening to me prior to the service. As no doubt you have noticed I am a very 'particular' person. I didn't want to come across as demanding in my instructions to you. You took them onboard willingly, and delivered the eulogy perfectly.

I am still having a giggle when you asked me how I wanted you to deliver the eulogy title....I was, and still am impressed that you asked. You wanted to get it right for me....again a sign of a professional.

Regards

A

We would like to share our news… on 30th December 2025, I was on the other side of the lectern as my long-term partner and I made our relationship legal, ending the year in celebration 🤍 🥂🎉🍾 ###

The festive season can stir many emotions. Alongside the joy, it can remind us of those who are no longer beside us, yet forever part of who we are.

This year, I have been deeply grateful to stand with families as they honoured remarkable lives, shared stories, and found moments of connection and peace. Being trusted with such personal memories is something I never take lightly.

As Christmas approaches, I hope you find comfort in small traditions, meaningful conversations, and the presence of those who matter most, near or far.

Here’s to a year ahead shaped by kindness, courage, and moments that matter.

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a hopeful New Year 🎄

With warmest wishes,

Cheryl

It was such an amazing morning. Seeing people come together to talk, listen, laugh and cry reminds me exactly why the Bereavement Café is so important. Thank you to everyone who came and to everyone who supports us. ❤️

Well, December's Bereavement Cafe was one of the busiest cafes we have had since we started.

The chatter in the Flower Hall at Mansfield Crematorium was astonishing.

Why?

People shared stories. People listened. People talked. People laughed. People cried.

Some attended for the first time. Some returned after a break. Some have been to almost every cafe we have held.

It's a safe space to be with people who know what you're going through.

It is safe to say, the Bereavement Cafe is so needed, and we are all so proud to play such a small part in helping people.

Thanks once again to Amy at PoFfles (mince pies and sausage rolls today - they went quickly but we're told they were amazing!).

Thanks to the Mansfield Crematorium staff for setting up and allowing us to have the cafe there.

Thanks also to Steve at Flare Print Studio for printing the business cards we use for the cafe.

The next cafe will be on January 5th, between 10am and 12noon.

Have a lovely rest of the day.

We didn't get chance to take a picture of the mince pies but here's a picture of an empty black plate similar to the empty one we were left with.
