Had a brilliant evening at Mansfield Hosiery Mills Sports & Social Club with Forest legend John McGovern. Even better getting to spend some quality time with my dad, brother, and nephew too.

It was my first time doing something like this and I absolutely loved it – a couple of beers, great company, and the steak pie was spot on 😋🍺

Already looking forward to the next one with Nigel Clough & Stan Collymore.

To top it all off… I even won the raffle – a signed John McGovern shirt 🙌🏼 What a night!

ADVANCED YOUTH PERFORMANCE 💪⚽🤸‍♂️

Our most advanced session is designed for young athletes competing in high-level sports such as gymnastics and football. Many in this group have trained with DBWS since age 6, building incredible stability, strength, and movement control.

We focus on:

January at DBWS so far… 👀💪

We’ve absolutely loved seeing so many of our members jump straight back in this month: back to routines, booking classes, getting gym time in the diary and actually making it happen.
That “I’ll start Monday” energy? You lot turned it into “I’ve already started”👏

This photo is from our 5.30pm Wednesday Strength & Conditioning class with Judith and honestly, it sums January up perfectly.
It was absolutely freezing outside, snow forecast within days… and people still showed up. That’s not motivation - that’s commitment.

There’s been a proper buzz in the gym; familiar faces, new goals, and that quiet confidence that comes from turning up even when it would be way easier not to.

And if you’re reading this thinking… “I haven’t quite got going yet”, that’s okay too. But don’t let January slip by while you wait to feel ready. Try this instead:

• Don’t aim for perfect, aim for one session.
• Book it in your diary like an appointment.
• Stop trying to “restart everything”, just pick up where you left off.
• Remember why you joined DBWS in the first place.

You don’t need a new week, a new month or a new plan.
You just need to start again… even if that start is small.

We’re here, the doors are open, and January is still yours.

Maintenance is key when it comes to preventing injuries, especially if you have a physical job or repetitive, unbalanced movement patterns.

The human body is a master of compensation and will always take the easiest route… until it can’t.

All treatments include:
• Pelvic biomechanics screening (if needed)
• Practical advice on strength & conditioning – whether you train or not.
• Personalised guidance to help correct imbalances and move better.

Gym goers 🏋️‍♂️
If you’re constantly tight or struggling in areas like between the shoulder blades, we’ll look at what’s causing it and how to fix it – not just treat the symptoms.

It’s January. In the UK. Snow happens.
And unless it’s genuinely unsafe to travel, we’re open as normal 💪

If you’ve seen the snow and decide not to come, please don’t just no-show. You usually know in plenty of time whether you can make it. Last minute cancellations (or none at all) really affect small businesses like ours.

👉 Classes: please cancel in advance if you’re not attending.
👉 1-1 sessions (PT, Sports Massage, treatments): this is our income. These sessions keep the lights on and the doors open. Late cancellations mean that slot can’t be filled.

And honestly… once you’re here?
💪 Your body warms up fast
🧠 You’ll feel so much better for moving, training, or getting that treatment.

We completely understand genuine issues and safety always comes first, we just ask that you communicate with us ❤️
