🪓✨ Axe Throwing Fun at Berry Hill Care Home! ✨🪓

What a fantastic day we’ve had here at Berry Hill! Today, Bri brought in something a little different… and it certainly captured everyone’s attention — safe, plastic axe throwing! 🎯

Residents and staff alike couldn’t resist having a go, taking turns to aim for the colourful target board. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and a bit of friendly competition as axes flew (safely!) through the air 💙❤️💛

We also enjoyed some lovely quieter moments too. Our wonderful Sylvia spent some special one-to-one time with Bri, helping to decorate the noticeboard ready for Easter 🐣🌸 — a perfect mix of creativity and companionship.

Days like these are all about trying new things, sharing laughs, and making meaningful moments together 💕

🌸🎬 Creativity & Cinema Magic at Berry Hill! 🎨🍿

What a joyful day here at Berry Hill Care Home! 🌸✨

This morning, our Activities Coordinator Bri led a hands-on session where residents (and a few staff!) created beautiful abstract flowers using plastic bags 🌼🎨

Smiles all around as everyone stamped, dabbed and experimented to make their own unique masterpieces 💖👏

In the afternoon, we swapped paint for popcorn as residents and loved ones enjoyed a cosy screening of Mary Poppins 🎬🍿

There were plenty of smiles, singalongs and toe-tapping moments — a truly heartwarming afternoon ☂️🎶

🌸✨ What a truly wonderful day we’ve had at Berry Hill! ✨🌸

Our home was filled with smiles, laughter, and so much joy as our lovely residents enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the day 💛

🎯 We kicked things off with some target practice – and what a success it was! Everyone gave it a go and did absolutely brilliantly. There were some very impressive throws and lots of cheering all around 👏

🎨 We also got creative with a fun and unique activity – plastic bag flower pressing! The results were beautiful, with bright, colourful blooms that everyone was so proud of 🌺🌼

🎶 A very special thank you to St Patrick’s school Choir for joining us today. Your singing was absolutely wonderful and truly lifted everyone’s spirits. It was such a joy to have you with us 💕🎤

Moments like these remind us how special our Berry Hill community is – full of warmth, creativity, and happiness 🏡💖

🍀✨ St Patrick’s Day at Berry Hill Care Home ✨🍀

What a brilliant day full of fun, laughter, and a touch of Irish magic! 💚

Our morning started sweetly with homemade shortbread biscuits baked by Deb, ready for our shamrock decorating activity 🍪🍀. Residents and family members enjoyed a relaxed, creative session filled with chats, smiles, and a few tasty treats along the way!

Lunchtime brought a delicious Irish-inspired menu 🇮🇪 with leek & potato soup, Guinness beef stew, and apple strudel cake for dessert—absolutely loved by all! 🍲🍏

In the afternoon, the party came alive! 🎤✨ With disco lights, karaoke, and plenty of singing, residents had a fantastic time celebrating in style 💃🕺. Shamrock biscuits and minty shamrock shakes kept everyone refreshed 🍀🥤

We finished the day with a lovely buffet and a beautiful green cake 🎂💚

A big thank you to our amazing team and wonderful residents for making it such a special day!

Music, Memories & Mother’s Day Magic 🎶💐

Our residents at Berry Hill Care Home enjoyed a truly beautiful Mother’s Day celebration, filled with love, laughter and precious moments shared with family and friends. 💗

The wonderful local band Moonshiners brought the room to life with lively rock and roll tunes, and before long there were smiles all around as residents and families jived and swayed along to the music. 🎸🎶 The atmosphere was full of joy, energy and togetherness – just what Mother’s Day is all about.

Families gathered to enjoy a delightful Mother’s Day afternoon tea, lovingly and expertly prepared by Vicky, with delicious treats and warm cups of tea shared around the table. ☕🍰

A very special highlight of the afternoon was the beautiful Mother’s Day cake, carefully made by our talented cook Tess, adding the perfect sweet touch to a wonderful celebration. 🎂

It was a lovely afternoon full of smiles, special memories and heartfelt moments spent celebrating the amazing mothers in our care.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special for our residents and their families.

🍀 A Lovely Day at Berry Hill Care Home! 🍀

It was a busy and heartwarming day today as we welcomed our Activity Coordinator Bri back! She’s been keeping everyone happily occupied with some wonderful activities.

With Mother’s Day coming up, Bri spent the morning asking residents two special questions:
💚 “What was the best thing about being a mum?”
💚 “What was the best thing about your mum?”

Residents shared some beautiful memories while reminiscing about their childhoods, their mothers, and their own experiences of being mums. From mums being best friends to being the strong pillars of the family, it was a lovely morning filled with smiles, laughter and meaningful conversations.

In the afternoon, it was time to get creative as residents started making St Patrick’s Day tutus for the home! 🍀 It was a little fiddly at times, but definitely festive and fun. They even tried making some hair bows too… the key word being tried! 😄

Bri also managed to snap some brilliant photos of residents proudly wearing their St Patrick’s Day glasses and tutus.

Another lovely day full of memories, creativity and laughter here at Berry Hill! 💚

🌸 Love in Bloom 🌸

In preparation for Mother’s Day, our lovely Sophie from the activities team spent a special afternoon with residents and their families creating beautiful table centrepieces at Berry Hill Care Home. 💐

Together they carefully arranged delicate pink flowers, fresh greenery and sparkling little hearts, filling the room with warmth, smiles and gentle conversation. It was so heartwarming to see everyone sharing such precious moments while making something so lovely together.

Each centrepiece was made with care, creativity and plenty of love – a perfect way to begin celebrating the wonderful mums and mother figures in our lives. 💗

✨🎬 A Fantastic Day Out for Our Lovely Ladies! 🎤🍔

Today two of our wonderful residents, Marion – our very own Elvis expert – and Laura, our passionate movie buff, enjoyed a fabulous day out with our amazing activity coordinators Sophie and Claire! 💜

The adventure started with a delicious lunch at McDonald’s, where they tucked into their meals and savoured every bite of their favourite treats. 🍟🍔 Nothing beats good food and great company!

After lunch, it was off to the Odeon Cinema in Mansfield for a special screening of Elvis Presley in concert 🎤✨. Marion was in her element watching the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll on the big screen, while Laura loved every moment of the cinema experience.

Both ladies said they enjoyed every single second of the trip, and their smiles said it all! It was a day full of laughter, music, memories, and wonderful moments together. 💙

Trips like these are what make our days so special here at Berry Hill Care Home!
