In Nottinghamshire and throughout the UK, several programmes are offering free period products.

If you need discreet sanitary items, just ask for a ‘Package for Sandy’ at Morrisons.

Food banks are aware of period poverty and the need for hygiene, so they accept and distribute sanitary products as part of their non-food offerings.

Hay Girls... provides a wealth of information and tips to boost your confidence about periods. Check out their website at www.heygirls.co.uk or read their book, 'It's that time of the month,' here: https://shorturl.at/7LhgC

Tanya Moroz-Wilson is raising funds for Change Grow Live to mark her one-year sobriety milestone.

Throughout her journey, she received invaluable support from Change Grow Live Nottinghamshire. To celebrate this achievement and promote awareness, Tanya plans to do a skydive on her anniversary. Her goal is to challenge the stigma surrounding substance use and mental health while generating funds for Change Grow Live, enabling them to assist others just as they have helped her.

"Change Grow Live guided me through one of the toughest times in my life when I was in a dark place and didn’t know how to move forward. They helped me make the leap into sobriety, and now I’m taking another leap—literally!"

Officers have been praised for helping to save the life of a man after he fell seriously ill in the back of a taxi.

The officers arrived in Bonner Lane, Calverton, at 8.30pm on Wednesday 5 March and found the man, aged in his 50s, slumped and unresponsive in the back seat.

After the man stopped breathing, the officers began to administer CPR as they waited for paramedics to take over.

Suspecting he was suffering from a drug overdose, they then administered a dose of Naloxone – a nasal spray designed to temporarily reverse the effects of opioid drugs.

Than man was later taken to hospital.

We introduced 400 Naloxone kits in November 2024 and have been training frontline officers in its use.

The drug was successfully deployed for the first time a few days after it was introduced and has now been used to help save another life.

Assistant Chief Constable Sukesh Verma said: “Without the timely intervention and quick thinking of these officers, this man may have passed away.

“The officers in this case remained calm and professional during a very difficult incident and used their experience and training to ensure patient got the immediate help he needed.

“All involved officers should be extremely proud of their actions and will all be recognised appropriately.”

Naloxone works by temporarily reversing the effects of opioid/opiate drugs by reversing the depression of the central nervous and respiratory systems – potentially helping to prevent a casualty from dying and buying them crucial time until paramedics arrive.
