Throughout all of the VE day celebrations this week, we were proud to introduce Clipstone Hall and Lodges' very own Mascot, Clover the Cow. 🐮 💚
We also have a smaller Clover therapy teddy bear, designed to provide comfort, reduce anxiety and offer reassurance and emotional support to those who need it most.

We cant wait to see what antics Clover will get up to next!✨️

What an absolutely amazing end to our VE Week celebrations here at Clipstone Hall!
We kicked things off this morning with a nursery visit from a local nursery the residents absolutely loved them coming in to see us, we then celebrated VE Day with a sing and dance along with some of the popular war time music!
And to top it off we hosted an afternoon tea for residents and their families to come and celebrate in style along with the amazing Steve Davey joining us and performing for them!

We would like to add a huge thank you to staff today for all their help and efforts to pull today off and give residents a truly memorable day 🕺🏼🎼❤️

🇬🇧 Veteran Story for VE Day 🇬🇧

This VE Day, we are honoured to celebrate one of our very special residents and thank him for his incredible service during World War II.

In 1944, at just 17 years old, he joined the Royal Navy and bravely went to war to serve his country. During his service, he was aboard the HMS Cleopatra from 1944 to 1945, before serving on the HMS Recruit from 1945 to 1946.

Today, he kindly shared with us his treasured photo album filled with memories from his time in the Navy, along with the medals he proudly earned during his service. Listening to his stories and seeing these personal pieces of history was truly moving.

This week, as we remember the courage and sacrifice of those who lived through the war, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to him — and to all those who served — for the bravery, resilience, and dedication that helped shape the world we live in today. 🌹

🇬🇧 Celebrating VE Day Memories 🇬🇧
This week, as we remember and celebrate VE Day, we wanted to share some very special stories from our residents — memories of wartime, resilience, community, and the joy felt when peace was finally declared. ❤️

Listening to their experiences has been both humbling and inspiring. These are moments of history told by the people who lived through it, and we are so proud to help keep their stories alive.

Thank you to our wonderful residents for sharing your memories with us. 🌹

Today we spent some time reminiscing and singing together as part of our VE Day week🇬🇧

We shared personal memories of the war, from going into air raid shelters to hearing bombs being dropped, and spoke about how life changed- especially how women stepped into factory roles while the men went off to fight.

We also enjoyed a wonderful singalong of wartime songs, bringing back the real sense of community. Resilience and togetherness.

A truly special and meaningful time spent remembering and sharing 🧡
