We are recruiting an experienced Senior Night Care Assistant to lead our night team at Oaklands Rest Home, a well-established, family-run dementia care home.

This is not a firefighting role. This is a structured, well-supported senior position.

The Role

Senior Night Care Assistant
£14.50 per hour | 36 hours | 3 nights per week (8pm–8am)
Oaklands Rest Home – Near the New Forest

As the Senior on shift, you will:
• Lead and coordinate the night care team
• Administer medication safely and confidently
• Ensure person-centred care plans are followed
• Complete accurate documentation and handovers
• Respond calmly to emergencies or behavioural needs
• Maintain a safe, settled environment for residents living with dementia
• You will work closely with the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager, who are available on call for support.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
• Experience in a UK residential or dementia care home
• Confident leading a shift at night
• Medication administration experience
• Good written and spoken English

Desirable:
• NVQ Level 3
• Previous formal Senior Care Assistant role

• £14.50 per hour
• 28 days annual leave (pro rata)
• Enhanced Bank Holiday pay
• Paid induction and structured onboarding
• Support towards NVQ Level 3
• Annual pay review

• Permanent contract
• 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
• We are not able to offer visa sponsorship
• Reliable transport required (limited public transport access)
