Grief is everywhere in our society…
And yet it’s often hidden…
Bereavement may be the grief that comes to mind first…
And yet, grief can manifest in a myriad of ways…
From divorce, to job loss, change in identity…
The collective grief of word events…
It is any loss that we experience…
Disconnection from self or sense of community…
And as a society we struggle to hold grief..
The ‘stiff upper lip’ underlies trying not to cry in public, or tears alone at home…
It is my belief that we need spaces where we can express our grief…
Circle is one of those spaces…
The 121 space I hold is also one of those spaces…
Because we weren’t supposed to do it alone…
We are tribal and we are programmed to process grief in community…
Grief is part of life
Grief is often a sign that we have cared, or loved…
Grief comes in many forms and is unique to all of us.
Grief is always welcome here…
